	Super Saiyan. I proved that without a shadow of a doubt. The hair is the confusing factor. At the start of the Buu Saga, Gohan's Super Saiyan hair was styled differently from his Super Saiyan 2. But fom the Budokai onwards, both forms had about the same hair style. The 2nd bang of hair Gohan used to have as a Super Saiyan, is no longer present in either form.

	Yeah, Gohan had the same one strand of hair when he was a SSJ training on the Kai's planet so that doesn't mean anything. Plus Dabura wouldn't stand a chance against SSJ2 Adult Gohan since SSJ Vegeta alone was enough to take him out, shown by how confident he was. Dabura is only around Perfect Cell suppressed as is SSJ Adult Gohan.

	That doesn't make sense though.... What would Gohan have to gain by not going all out? Dabura was pretty much holding his own..... I suppose Gohan was testing his strength, but the whole point was to not let them get any ki from them. Why would Gohan let Dabura have even the slightest possibility of attack him and getting some hits in? Do you guys think that Gohan was going to go SSJ2 had Dabura not stopped fighting because of what he saw in Vegeta? It has also been proven that Toei can be lazy with electricity sometimes with SSJ2/3.... So how do you know he was not SSJ2 and Toei left out the electricity? We need to see a manga scan to be sure.

AT has been known to leave out the electricity a couple of times in the manga as well, but not half as much as Toei... So did Gohan have the electricity against Dabura in the manga or not? Did Gohan have electricity the other times he went SSJ2 in the manga such as at the tournament, and when he tried destroying Buu's egg?

The manga honestly, is the source to use to determine that, the anime has holes and caps everywhere. Better avoid using that altogether. As far as scans is concerned btw, I could show some. They are from the online manga reader though, so the quality isn't perfect.

So not ALWAYS...... AT is a flawed human like the rest of us, so it's not ALL Toeis fault sometimes... Again, it doesn't make sense for Gohan to not be SSJ2 when trying to stop Buu from being reborn... Gohan even remembered what Goku said about getting mad, and unleashing his power... He did so, and attacked Buu's egg... See, I just can't buy the fact he was not SSJ2 against Dabura and blasting Buus egg.... They had to much to lose for him not to go SSJ2.... I buy that Dabura wasn't at his full strength, and maybe Gohan wasn't either, but I still think he was at the very least a minimal powered SSJ2.... Not enough evidence to prove either, but there is various evidence to go both ways...

Some people SWEAR by the whole hair thing.... However, Gohan did go SSJ2 at the tourney, we know that.... So he COULD go SSJ2, albeit a weak one....

	^ it probably is indeed something along those lines. Gohan, in the manga, said he "couldn't be the way he was then", referring to his fight with Cell. Possible reason for that could be the following: quote Wikipedia Participating in the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, Gohan is depicted as having grown weaker, which the Daizenshū World Guide book explains as due to a lack of training and anger in transforming. Now some people may not take the Dai's that seriously, but it does elaborate on Gohan's comment in the manga. Then, if you also take into account the situation with Videl at the Budokai, where Gohan was able to go SSJ2, the dots are connected. As far as the hair goes, for what it's worth I'll admit it makes things complicated, but Gohan clearly was not using SSJ2 against either Dabura or Majin Buu.
