Anime isn't considered "porno" it's considered "hentai"
I already gave my thought on "hentai" so I wont repeat myself.
Romance in an Anime is like dates, kissing, hugs, butterflies, and sruff like that. "hentai" is when two drawings are doing whatever kinda sex position that the artist drew for jerkin off (witch is stupid). Pretty big difference if you ask me.
Romance = OK in Anime, "hentai" = Really unnecessary.

Thats a little pidgeon holed. Sailor Moon is aimed at girls aged 10 to 15, and what do girls aged 10 to 15 like? Cheesy romance stories. Just look at the books written for girls that age even in America... its just straight out corny.

Romance stories change depending on the target audience. In American comic books, romance nearly doesn't exist, replaced by frustrated homoeroticism. On the other hand, romance stories aimed at middle aged women in Japan tend to be fairly sexual, and revolve around women being betrayed a lot. Etc etc etc.

Personally I think that for who Dragonball is aimed at, teenage boys aged 10 to around 16 or so, the level of romance is perfectly suitable. Girls exist, there is acknowledgement of love, but realistically the characters are still more interested in doing boys stuff.

Hentai really is just about the perversion. A good way to think of it is the idea that a Western film can have sexscenes without being a porno, in the same way an anime can have sex scenes without being a hentai.

Yeah I think that was the only problem I had relationship wise in DBZ. I mean I really don't think it's necessary at all to go too far into it in DBZ, Gohand and Videl like eachother thats all you need to know. Goku and ChiChi were teen sweethearts haha Fine.

But Vegeta and Bulma? Not only was that totally out of the blue, Vegeta NEVER showed any interest in her. Trunks slightly when he decided he was going to kill himself to beat Buu, but Bulma? Random.

Trunks said it, they would get together later on, it happened in the three years leading up to the Android saga. Bulma would dump Yamcha and begin a relationship with Vegeta, out of which Trunks would be born. From what I recall, we saw very little of these 3 years, and what we did see was characters in their preperation for the battle with the androids. So it makes sense we didn't see them get together either.

There is such thing as Dragonball hentai. I know this because some random porn link popped up right onto my computer screen one day when I clicked on one of my mail links.

Yeah, I can recall browsing on some fansites and seeing some Dragonball hentai too. Not sure if it's official though, I'm inclined to think it's purely fan made.

I don't think so either. I don't really know what the deal is with all the Hentai spreaded around the web, nor do I really give a fudge, so I'll gladly take your word on what you've said.

Agreed. Dragonball is an anime that's primarily orientated on Martial Arts. It has nothing to do whatsoever with romance or sex. I've said it before and I'll say it again, seeing some romance and/or sex in it wouldn't make me lose interest, but does it make Dragonball better, or, does it need it? That I think can be answered with a "no".
