That seems most probable, as MM runs on the same basic engine as OoT, and it's likely that the placement of the blast mask's point of explosion was a little to far away from Link's face. Was it changed in the collectors edition, if not then they probably never knew about it.

Well, that's pretty much The Shadow Temple's deal. Forest had twisted corridors and ghost siblings. Fire had boulder mazes and Gorons. Water had changing tides and Hookshotting. Spirit had mirrors and Brainwashing. So Shadow has invisible stuff and dead people. Just keep your wits about you, and maybe pack a potion or two for the Lens of truth (although you probably won't need them at all).

I can't believe you can endure the constant switching of boots for the Water Temple and yet can't stand going through the Shadow Temple. It's far less frustrating. To be honest, those zombies aren't frequent enough, and a quick play of the Sun Song freezes them anyway.

Those messages do get annoying but they don't last too long.

Well, The Temple of Time (or Light, whichever you prefer) could also be the longest. Because technically, obtaining the three spiritual stones in part of it, and that's three whole dungeons right there.
