absolutely stuck in the water temple

I already helped this dude over PM. He has to restart, because he got himself stuck.

He PMed me too. Can you tell me what keys you got.

I believe it is proven that in OoT's Water Temple, it is very easy to become trapped in a glitch where it is no longer possible to move foward in the dungeon. Since he had no saved file, I had him use this guide

and try and go through they way the author says to. He could not not that and he also could not advance any further in the part of the dungeon he was on. I then told him to try and find any other areas in the dungeon that he could advance through. He came to a point where there was no way to complete the dungeon. He also had no save to go back to from before he started the temple An excerpt from the guide minked above

I didn't do anything wrong. If anything, I saved the kid from hours of futile work.

IIRC the glitch is there are not enough keys in the temple to be able to choose exactly what parts of the temple you want to do first. For example. You start in Room A. You find a key in Room A. You can either use that Key to go to Room B or Room C. If you go into Room B, everything is fine and dandy, as you'll get another jey to go into Room C. But if you go into Room C first, then you will not find a key that will let you go into room B, and thus Room B cannot be accessed. If Room B needs to be accessed to complete the Temple, you have made it so you cannot complete the temple.

I do not know how to do it off the top of my head. But, if the original poster remembers what he did before he got stuck, that would be how the glitch is done (or at least one of the ways). You may also want to contact the author.

The glitch isn't going to be something really obvious though. The developers missed it so it won't be as simple as the example provided above. Although it will have the same basis.

Water Temple probably has the most keys in the game which makes it so hard and complicated. When you first start i think you need to get like 6 keys before raising the water level from the ground.

Ocarina of Time is made so that you don't have to restart if you happen to use a key on the wrong door, there is usually a way around. What got me stuck the first time was the key underneath the block inside that water tower thing if that helps anyone.

Im not sure if this is one, i haven't played in such a long time, but the one where you have to use a spin attack to open a gate. It should be one of the bottom level ones. Just lower the water level to its lowest point and scale all of the bottom rooms then raise it and take all the high rooms see if your missing anything
