The Fade Effect in Flash

Also if the text isn't going to move while you want it to slowly fade in you can make a shape tween...

To make a shape tween to make the text fade in:
1. On the first frame make your text the background color.
2. make a key frame in a frame further on (15 frames or so, depending on speed you want the fade to happen).
3. On this frame put the color you want it to fade too.
4. go to the first frame and last frame of the tween (do one at a time) and click the text box... press break apart so that it has the dots you get when you select something, so that it is completly broken apart.
5.Then click on any frame in between the 2, and go into the properties box, and where it says tween change it to shape... if it was done right you will have this:
