FFIX Characters

I'm going to create this thread as a means of bringing life to this dying forum.

It's about the wonderful characters of Final Fantasy IX.
I believe them to be the most original and creative characters every to be in a video game.

Zidane (a personal hero of mine) is the perfect hero. Why? He doesn't believe himself to be the hero. He's just doing what his instincts tell him. "You don't need a reason to help people" is truly his character description.

Kuja is the perfect villain, because he's working for a cause other than his own. The assimilation of Terra and Gaia is his purpose for being, and his purpose for living. He is not insane like Sephiroth or Kefka, but uses a poetic quality to bewitch his enemies with words.

Other unforgettable characters like Quina and Steiner complete this game's cast and make it better than other RPG's out there.

Vivi...how on Earth could I forget him? The cute little black mage is one of the greatest Final Fantasy characters to ever grace the screen. His development was by far the greatest of the whole cast, without a doubt.
He started as an unsure young boy, and became a self-assured, powerful mage.

More than can be said for other, less convincing characters fomr other games.

It's true that Steiner and Quina were more laughable than relatable, but my point was that once you meet them, you simply don't forget them.

Right you are, twinkle. The characters develop closer throughout the game. Some more than others, of course.

I thought it surprising that Freya and Amarant hit it off so well. They aren't exactly a likely couple.

Does anyone know why Freya was banished from Burmecia? Did I miss that?

Everyone has such a problem with Amarant. He was supposed to be the mysteriously cool one. His story was that he had no story, and his life had no meaning until Zidane.

Steiner and Zidane did make quite a pair. Steiner just couldn't keep up with all the insults.

The first time I played the game I named Steiner Rusty. I didn't know that Zidane actually calls him that in the game untill my second time through. Silly me.

I just felt that Amarant's reason for following Zidane was a bit farfetched with the grudge against him from the past thing. There was a story for him, but there wasn't enough substance, I guess.

He's definately a strong character to use, though.

Vivi is the best character in the game, he totally rocks! He`s my favorite male character.
My favorite Female character is Eiko, I know some people might not like her because she`s annoying and I agree. But she`s adorable and funny sometimes.

Eiko has alot of really good spells that Garnet dosent have, though...

i thought so, that you don't judge the character by his powers in the game, but by his .........character.
