	The "Keys of the Kingdom" series by Garth nix didn't live up to the reputation it had been given. The books were un-original, confusingly worded and not much character development. To be honest, Sabriel, Lireal and Abhorsen were alot better than The Keys of the Kingdom Series. 	Twilight and the entire series is by far the worst thing I've ever read. Let's ignore some of simplier things.... First: It has no plot. The romance story itself is not romantic, it's just lust. The relationship itself comes off as one giant abusive relationship, tbh. Second: Horrible lead characters. Both Bella and Edward are giant Mary Sues & Stus, Bella being black hole sue, angst sue, & later God Mode Sue and Edward being a major jerk stu. In fact, he legit has no redeemable qualities and when he's not being a complete psycho, he's dull character. Bella herself is one of the most sexist things I've ever seen created. Third: It's not written well at all. I could go on and on about my rants, but categorizing it anywhere in zone of "Good" books I feel is insulting to literature. ------------------- Mastermind 4

Why these books have been made into movies, and not good books like Pendragon, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Artemis Fowl, is beyond me. I also find the Harry Potter saga to be overrated. It's received so much hype and attention, and yet, there are plenty of books I find to be better. As mentioned earlier in this post, I find Pendragon, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Artemis Fowl to be underrated. 	I was talking about this with Light Druid last night, and in my opinion Harry Potter is starter fiction to get you addicted before you move onto the harder stuff. So much as I wouldn't read the books, I approve of them as a means to get kids into the reading addiction. ------------------- Dovahkiin..Dragonborn!

	Harry potter series just uggg, cant stand wizards etc etc... with all that bs. Lord of the rings series(dad loves them) I however just couldn't get into them. It also falls into the wizard etc etc.... bs Never read twilight any of them, and dont plan too the movies will suffice for me -------------------

	I'm going to mention the Sword of Truth series. Apart from Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, which I had read years ago, the Sword of Truth series is the series I first read when I decided to get properly into the fantasy genre over 2 years ago. At the time I thought it was really good, although I thought books 1-6 were more interesting. Now that I am more widely read I think the series is awful and I doubt I'll ever bother to read it again. The writing is very bad, and the fantasy cliches are running loose all over the place! The characters are probably the most one dimensional type cast characters I think I've ever encountered as well. I mention it in this thread because the series has sold something like over 20 million books world-wide, and has spawned a TV mini-series "Legend of the Seeker" which I actually have a guilty pleasure of watching. 	I found To Kill A Mocking Bird incredibly boring and overrated. That is partly to do with being forced to read it and being an Australian though I'm sure. The whole Eragon thing skipped my interest as well. People exclaim at how well written it was for such a young kid, but that doesn't change the fact that it still reads like it was written by a child. ------------------- Gumdrop Fields
