	Log in to remove this sponsored message I bought the second book. Horrible idea when trying to avoid temptation. Damn it's thick. It's like an inch thicker than A Game of Thrones (that's what she said). I'm not the fastest reader but my dad has read two books already and I'm not even done with this one. Couple of the chapters have just felt like history lessons or tourism guides, but that is more an observation than a criticism because I love hearing more about GRRM's world. 	So I finished the first book. God that was a haul to read that book haha. Man it took forever. I've only read a handful of books and so I don't think it is right of to judge on how good of an author Martin is. Loved the talk of strategy in this book, something that was taken out of the show. Liked characters like Blackfish and the whole Tully family, who were taken out of the book. I'd jump in to the next book if I wasn't sick of reading right now haha ------------------- Superhero Costumes

Spoiler:general stuff It's a little strange to get so much of the Free Cities and the Companies dumped on us after going 4 books with so little of them. It's interesting enough, but I'd have liked a little more focus on the Night Watch to balance it out. So far, not much has happened, apart from Stannis moving south, and Jon recruiting the wildlings. Manderly not actually killing Davos was bleeping awesome. I had my suspicions, but it was good to see them confirmed. Theon being revealed to be alive was a very interesting development. It was fascinating to read how broken he was, courtesy Ramsay. Dany's story arc, on the other hand? Not feeling it. It's just so annoying to see her sitting in Meereen and doing nothing. Admittedly, I'm only slightly more than a third into the book, but so far, I've found nothing interesting about Meereen, apart from the part where it's confirmed that Astapor has fallen and the Yunkai might move against Dany. 	I think he's a very good writer, considering his ability to capture both detail, and the goings on of the whole world without creating loop holes or other issues. I think however, he's got a very bad sexual hole in his heart or some latent desire because there's an unnecessary amount of it in the book.

	Game of Thrones complete. It was a tad annoying reading through almost 800 pages already knowing almost everything that was going to happen (having been turned on to the series by the HBO show), but i did enjoy the extra detail that is included in the book. Finally i can move the plot on by reading the next. Although i don't know whether i'm excited to be introduced to a shitload of new characters, names and lineages to remember or dreading it, haha. -------------------
