Couple of friends of mine have been waxing lyrical about this series recently, so it looks like I'll be taking up their recommendation. I've been saying and thinking for years that I need to read more, and this sounds like it will be a fantastic place to start remedying that.

Well, how far did you get?

Well, Eye Of The World took me ages, as I was only reading the odd chapter here and there. Got through The Great Hunt a lot quicker though, and then The Dragon Reborn took me about two and half days. Got through the next few in a reasonable time, but just as I got into the beginning of Path Of Daggers, suddenly I found myself with very little time to read. I've managed a couple of chapters of that in the last month, but that's it. It's quite annoying really, as I am (I was) really enjoying it.

That's pretty good going since April. Was interested to see whether you had taken to it or not. It's a great series. You're hitting the lull now. Book 10 was the low point for me, although I enjoyed books 8 and 9 more than most. People usually claim about 8-10. It comes back really strong in Knife of Dreams, the last one Jordan wrote himself, and then doesn't let up.

Aye. I can't remember exactly where it was - it might have been the end of nine or somewhere in ten - but one of the friends I mentioned said it got a little harder going around then. She's well in towards the end now though, on book thirteen now, I think.

I've still not read New Spring yet either. I was going to do it after five. Then six. Then seven. Now eight. No doubt, when I actually finish it though, I'll probably end up going straight onto nine.

For anyone curious, the prologue to AMoL is available now for purchase if you're like me and constantly want to punish yourself. It's so, so good.

But now I need the book.

I think I read somewhere that it has to do with the ebook publishers being different in the US and Canada than in...pretty much everywhere else. Think it's Orbit overseas and Tor over here.
