Ok cheers for the heads up! At the moment it's just hard to see the direction that the series will take, what is on the horizon. I find that a series usually hooks people by giving them a taster of what is to come, but I don't seem to have gotten that 'taste' at the moment. Although the more I read, the more I'm enjoying the backstory and goings on in the the Wheel of Time universe.

I don't mean to downplay how good the series is, but perhaps it's just not a series that gets the reader on a rollercoaster (immediately, at least) and relies on other factors to make it great? I think i'll take your word for it and persevere through the first few books then and see how I go!

rand cleansing saidin totaly made me geek out....
ive been thinking
if the wheel of time is a circle and if rand does not reseal the darkone but instead kills him
will he become the new dark one?
because there has to be a dark one when the age of legends comes again
and rand is bent on destroying him

Just finished The Great Hunt! (Tell a lie- I've had my nose stuck in Stephen King's Everything's Eventual for the last few days) I think this series has finally clicked with me, actually enjoyed the second book.

Very slow going, but ultimately quite rewarding for a fan of fantasy!

I'm not saying this is what will happen, though. Even now after thirteen books, I'm still not sure how this series is going to end, which is masterful writing if you ask me.

im on book 10 started it yesterday and halfway through
hoping to be on book 12 by end of week so i can get to book 13 before the end of the weekend
but anyways that makes since
or maybe Mat will become the new dark one
because how his signal is kinda like a raven (his spear....his ring)
mat seems like a bad good guy
plus the prophecy people said that he would have to give up half the light which sounds like something he would have to do if he was to replace the dark one

woot read over half of book 11 in like 4-5 hours

got book 12 this morning
