I will tell you, I'm about half way through and I wasn't expecting the story to go in the direction it has. I suppose knowing that the book is post-modern should have given me the heads-up that everyone was going to suffer needlessly, though. Haha, yea it's pretty damn depressing. Have you seen the film? I thought the book and movie make great companion pieces, check it out if you haven't after finishing the book. ------------------- last.fm

	I am currently reading 'Looking for Alaska' by John Green and 'A Study in Scarlet' by Arthur Conan Doyle. They're pretty bad ass.

	Oh, I could have sworn I posted in here... Well, I'm now about 2/3rds of the way through "Battlefield Earth: The Saga of the Year 3000" (title might be a bit off). Better than I was expecting, to be sure, I'm enjoying it. Don't like the political parts, but it is going well. 	I've just finished reading The Echo Maker by Richard Powers, and I have to say that it is one of the best books I've read for quite some time...Brilliantly written in every way, and definitely a book that I will remember for a long time...I recommend it to everyone, to at least have a look at it and see if you like what you read... -------------------

	I'm reading Destroy All Cars, a fairly new book, I suppose. It's for teenagers mainly, since I'm working in the library to write book revies for teens and whatnot. But it's been pretty good so far. 	I just finished The Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Hitchhiker's is probably the funniest book I've ever read and The Hunger Games is a great action story. I'm about to read Catching Fire, the sequel to Hunger Games. -------------------

	I have to put a hold on all the books I actually want to read, because I joined the school's book club. We're reading "It's Kind of a Funny Story" by Ned Vizzini. I didn't like it at first, but as I'm progressing it's getting a bit better.

	Cry of the Newborn by James Barclay. Fantasy genre, no other races, Romanish (Roman type armies, toga's, not so much the bloodthirsty infighting) type period Not the most cheerful book in the world, in truth there doesn't seem to be a chapter where something horrible isn't happening. Engrossing with lots of good characters, entertaining dialog, a good plot and some memorable moments.

	Finishing off Teacher by Sylvia Ashton-Warner, found it to be an interesting book about organic teaching methods and how it functioned with unique cultures and such, some food for thought. Not sure what to read next, probably going to finish off that Dragonlance Minotaur trilogy. -------------------

	Ned Vizzini's book turned out to be pretty good, and as I got excited to finally get back on track with what I wanted to read, the book club shoves another book in my face. The read for the month of November is "Me & Emma" by Elizabeth Flock. This is gonna be a tough one for me. I don't really find the story interesting... at all, and the girl uses "cain't" instead of "can't". That bothers me for some reason, probably because I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling. That makes me a pretty picky reader.
