Really got back into reading recently. I've read 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' by Steig Larsson, really enjoyed it and I'll be looking to read the rest of the trilogy soon.

Oddly enough I just finished it. What'd you think of the ending? I was like almost crying lololololol

I didn't find the parakeet part nearly as *bleep*ed up as some parts of the book. (Bjurman!)

I usually don't get too emotionally attatched to characters within a book but I died at the end

I've just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
It's set in Nazi Germany and is narrated by Death.
While death is a sympathetic character in this book, I prefer Terry Pratchett's version.

This is not a funny book.

Recently finished Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Was a really good read, not sure how good the translation I had was though, as I can't say I was totally blown away by it like some have been. I read it over a fair period of time though and at a quite fragmented pace, so I may have just lost some of the story's momentum. Really enjoyed some of the protagonists rambling internal monologues though and the tension in the scenes with the manipulative detective.

I've since started The Grapes of Wrath, which is the first Steinbeck I've read, and so far I think it's amazing. I'm only a hundred or so pages in, but I'm really enjoying the narrative and I think his style of writing is just beautiful, and there are already one or two passages that have really stuck with me.

Definitely going to get some more of his stuff to read once I'm done with this. Although I'm also planning on an epic Tolkien marathon, and intend to reread in order The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. That should certainly tide me over during the summer.

I am currently reading The Stand by Stephen King, I am a big but fairly new fan of King's, having only read the Shining but instanlty falling in love with it, I know the stand is a totally different book but I heard it was one of his best. I am thoroughly enjoying it so far, I love how King moulds the characters.
