Discworld Series (Terry Pratchett)

i read them and i love them^_^

I love these books and i've read all the main stories (not the spin-off books like the Discworld Mapp, though). Terry Pratchett is a genius. One of my favourite quotes (there's too many to type them all) "Give a man a burning log and he'll be warm for a day, but set fire to him and he'll be warm for the rest of his life" That one had me ROFLMAO for days.

Just a notice to everybody... some people already know, but ina few days tops, a discworld RP will be starting in the RP forum. Anybody wants to join in, just Pm me. K?

Basically, the stories are set on the discworld, which is a flat world, resting on the shoulders of four elephants, which in turn stand upon a giant astro-turtle named great A'tuin. Here's a picture:

There are four real seperate stories that happen in the discworld series.

There is the Rincewind series, which is about an inept cowardly wizard who has adventures, which he hates.

Next there is the Death series, which follow the exploits of the Grim reaper, and his family.

After that there is the City Watch series, which is about the Ankh-Morpork police service (Ankh-Morpork is one of the Disc's major cities), and those stories are whodunnit's but to quote the back of one of these "He doesn't know whodunnit. In fact, he's not even sure what they dun."

And lastly there is the witches series, which follows the adventures of three Lancre witches as they have adventures against Elves, Vampires, Foreigners, and Morris Dancers.

They are all really funny, but i would advise people starting on Discworld books to read the first two (the Colour of Magic, The Light Fantastic), and then the rest of the stories fit into place better.
