I have a problem with the Alpha Beeding/Mesh option in the graphic settings. Whatever I do, in whatever resolution, if I turn on alpha beeding the loading of the doors and the picture based videos (like the one saying "This game contains explicit voilence and gore" (no other videos have any problems), it is terribly slow. Alpha beeding is needed to show smoke, fire, water and such effects perfectly. With Mesh, these look ugly, altho the door loadings and those kind of videos are not slow. Is anyone having the same problem, or is it possible to do something with this? I want to be able to see smoke, water and fire clearly with Alpha beeding, but with perfect loading time like I had before. Any ideas what to do?

One thing: I also changed compability to Win 98 / ME, to be able to load the saved files. With XP compability (with which I can't load saved files), this Alpha beeding had no problems.

Any help is greatly apprechiated!

I also tried out compability modes.
With Windows 95 and 98 / ME, Alpha beeding doesn't work properly, but I can load my savegames.
With Windows 2000 and NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5), or my standard Windows XP, Alpha beeding works, but I get the loading problem. (Can't load any savegames.)

under "Options" before clicking "Play" (before "this game contains...), have you selected the right video card and resolution? If you've got the right video card or have selected "unknown card" try opening it in a window instead of full screen (also on the options menu).
