No, there will in fact be two voting sessions. After we vote once, Mike will come up with nominations (three members with most votes for each category). Then we will vote again, this time including only nominated members, which will take us to the final results.

Personally, I don't think it's required seeing as we have the Character Elimination and soon the GF Elimination threads. They show us whom the favourite characters are anyway.
And one thing: If the thread starts tomorrow, the 11th, with the prelims, when shall the Preliminary phase end? I thought maybe the 16th-18th. And the Finals end 5-7 days after that.

All sounds very good there, sounds like you've got it all planned out pefectly, should be good to get it up and running. Although on a general note i would have thought 6 months was more appropriate for newcomer.

I agree that people who have joined in the last year are not exactly "newcomers".

On the other hand, this is going to be an annual award contest. So it only makes sense if the "newcomer" period is one year long.

well, even if it is annual, six months would still make sense as this is the first one.

I thought it should be 6 months too, until I had a chat with Topaz. Anyway, 6 months isn't too long for a 'newcomer' to sharpen out of that n00b shell, and become a sensible, prominent regular. And what lone said, the annual thing. XD

Thanks lone. I may have to postpone the start of the thread 'til the 12th if it takes a while before the others return and post their opinions.

On a side note, FFXII hasn't impressed me. The best part of the game is Basch so far... still, it's a little early to judge, only got it yesterday.
