But not being able to live without someone else.....I don't know I felt that way once and looking back it seems like weakness. Loving someone and caring about them is great but where it gets to the point where you can't live without them then maybe it's a bit much.

i disagree...but oh well. yup i suppose Squall did get to a point where he couldnt leave without her, but i still thank that added to his desire and his will to fight on.

In a fantasy world it works fine but I think you can love someone and they can mean the world to you but you can still live your life without them or at the least you can go on with life because that's what they'd have wanted from you. I suppose with Squall and Rinoa she wasn't actually dead, I can undersatand him wanting to save her at all costs, but it also seemed to me like had she died he'd have given up totally on life.

well, real life is different for everyone, and i understand everyone has difficult circumstances in there past.

What would you expect from Squall?
I mean, he was a totally jackass at the start, then after he meets Rinoa, he starts to let his feelings go out.

He fears losing his friends, and the love he found, just recently, that he swore to protect, the love that made him go out of his shell.

Now, what would happen if Rinoa died anytime after disc 1.
The whole reason of Squall's self-opening would be lost.
That strange, yet perfect feeling he just felt for her, lost, never to be felt again.
There would have no real important reasons for him to go any further.

Mental note: Love is complex...maybe not.

Very true indeed. very perceptive of the characters. But thats what was so great about Squinoa, it was complicated, Squall did have to change and it could have ended badly and painfully, that was always possible and that was good as the game didnt just say heres a simple nice cute love story it actually made it seem real.

I liked the cold attitude Squall had. That back off I don't care attitude. However, it's nice that he actually started to care about his comrades a little more. I think he fell in love with Rinoa, during the Esthar stages. I think this quote applies:

that actually is one of my favourite quotes of Squall. you're right it really did show how much he changed, that was a really beautiful moment i think.

Yup. And the ending movie was a nice too, they finally kiss.

It actually has to be one of my favorite ending movies for a game. I like how they do that flower scene. All those flowers flying over the grass plains. Great stuff.

I think I said this before... the ending would have been perfect if Zell died choking on that hotdog It was still great though

Sure, Squall and Rinoa wouldn't have been born, but what about the story?

Would Ellone end up being at the orphanage?

I think everyone would still be in garden...ect...

Seifer might have ended up being rivals with someone like Zell or Irvine instead of Squall. xD
