Squinoa owns, it is the best and i personally find that it is believable.


I think there were aspects of love from the beginning at the dance with the 'love me, love me' part and Squall did, he made gesture to her before she came to speak to him the flick of the head (or did i imagine it )and did you see the look on his face when she ran off he was devastated. Although i think it was not until later on in the game that they both realised how much they love the other.

Agree with you both. Yup Squall did do the head flick. there was obviously a connection when they danced, but when they met up again that connection had faded. But all the adversity between then and the end of the game made them so much stronger. when he thought he would lose her, he realised he really needed her.!

I think they came out strong because they went through so much.
And obviously the promise in the field was the hieght of it all. and i think the way squall said just stay close to me in deling and then again in time compression kind of tied up the section were their feelings grew.

he was man enough to admit his feelings, but he had issues okay!!!!!it wasnt his fault!

But i think it was that side of his personality that drew rinoa to him, she wanted to see what was inside and that in a way made them closer.!

I did like how gradually it built up during the game, at first they argued a lot, then Squall tells Rinoa to stay by his side. After that Rinoa says something like "I can fight aslong as I'm with you" as they face off versus Edea.

Then off course there is the space scene and then Squall rescuing Rinoa From Esthar.

That's really sweet how Amari noticed how that they were in love all along , I've never viewed that way. I guess the "You're going to like me" dialouge does give a clue to what's really going on.

I just really agree with what everyone's said so far. I think their relationship's entirely believeable. Rinoa knew Squall had problems, but she was intriged (attracted?:colored to him she didn't care. Well, I felt that way about a girl once so that's how I'd view it. And they're both so sexy, how could you yourself not fall in love with either one?!

I reckon deep down, male players want to be Squall and rescue Rinoa, and I suppose female players want to be rescued by Squall. **I know SquallyBalambgirl is jealous of Rinoa and wants to be rescued by Squall. Yay!**

I think that's proabably a big reason for why this game is so great. You are Squall, you get to be part of it. And another thought, in a video game, the love story's presented to just you, not a big audience like a movie.

That makes me wonder why game developers dont realise there's a winning formula here. But if there were more "romance" games like 8, we'd just compare it to 8 and it wouldn't be as good.

You can definitely see Squall has kinda fallen for her even at the dance, he looks really content but then she leaves to go talk to Cid and he looks dissapointed and that didn't really help the relationship between them.
