Something like that, yes. I did it without the statmaxing though, i never had the nerves, to max speed and luck of three characters. And now i don't even have the patience for a single walkthrough anymore. Flash games ftw!

Btw, now Gobi can argue, that the uploader must show 300 hours of youtube videos, to prove, that he statmaxed his characters without a cheating device.

But the video clearly shows that one can beat Omega Weapon without having any other available command than attack, does not it?
By the way, it is the PC version of FF 8 (you should be able to imagine why I know this), which comes with an internal Pocketstation and thus with access to Chocobo World, where stat ups are quite a common item.

Don't worry Kynos, your battle was great and legendary. Gobi is just our ultimate troll. He cannot admit, that there are FF8 players, that are waaaay out of his league. He will allways questionate known facts, denying everything, that doesn't fit in his own little world.

I'm sure, everyone else acknowledges your achievement of beating Omega Weapon with no sealbreaks. I liked it, how you used the Gunblade Healing strategy btw. (i call it like this, because i usually use it with a Gunblade, it doesn't miss and without statmaxing, its critical hits are much more reliable.


However, i beat him too, with two petrified characters to survive Terra Break and Lightpillar, and a berserked Squall, using Auto-Potion to heal him. For some reason, petrify status doesn't seem to slow you down, the remaining character gets the turns, that the others would get. You could try it again, using Selphie to berserk herself, while the others are petrified write from the beginning. maybe that would be even faster.

Auto-Potion is triggered, when an attack of the opponent or another character causes the wearers HP to go below 50%. Just have your HP below 5000 and Meteor will initiate Auto-Potion. Of course, you should sell every Potion, Potion+, Hi-Potion and Hi-Potion+. X-Potions are used before Elixirs, so there's no need to sell the Elixirs.

Keep in mind, that you still need a high speed stat and to junction Auto-Haste with the petrified characters, it should speed up the remaining character, if i'm not mistaken.

Stop being an a$$. The battle is LAME. I spell for ya - L.A.M.E. I'm sure ya know what lame is, or do ya wanna me to look it up on the online dictionary?

It is LAME cos the player changed ATB from Active to Wait, and put Selphie on standby (without doing anything) while placing his two other party members into berserk mode, and let them attack. This tactic is LAMER than using Holy war.

Now, having tested the battle with two characters petrified, I have become rather pessimistic.
Firstly, Terra Break always killed Selphie (non-petrified), which means that I have not yet been able to go beyond this stage of the battle with your strategy. Apart from that, however, the even bigger problem is caused by my not getting even merely remotely enough turns in between Omega's although ALL characters had a Speed stat of 255 and Auto-Haste equipped. To put that into dimensions: Whereas I must have gotten around 140 hits during one of Omega's attack cycles using the Zombie strategy, I will get probably only 60 now, which means that I would definitely have to survive Terra Break twice, which, even though admittedly not the most improbable, is still quite annoying to hope for...
Hmm, maybe I will try it out later today or tomorrow a few times again.

However, i thought, that you may be able to do it even earlier, not later. Appearantly, your strategy is better than mine. Maybe it works, if you petrify the other characters during the battle, like i did, but i don't know.

Well, I won't give up that fast, even though that strategy seems even more out of the ordinary; I will simply give Selphie another position in my team (when standing on the outer left side facing Omega, she was always hit 6 times...-.-) and see how that changes my chances to survive Omega long enough in order not to let him survive any longer.
