My computer has started playing up since last night. I was playing Football Manager when the screen went all weird. Had loads of different coloured dashes across the screen. It responded for a few seconds then nothing would work.
Had to hold the power button to turn it off, then when I turned it on again, it got to the Windows log in screen, did it again, and wouldn't respond.
I though it might be overheating or something but when I went on this morning it did it again, only this time it was more like stripes down the screen. I started it in safe mode and this worked ok. Loaded it normal afterwards and it worked for about an hour, then the stripes came, and also got a frozen BSOD.
Loaded it up in safe mode again and it froze with the strips again. Just had one more go on normal, and this time it went all weird with little squares all over the screen.
I don't think its the monitor, as it would respond, and the menu comes up normally on it when press the button on the side of it.
I ran the hardware diagnostic thing that came with my dell and got:
Error code 5300:0119
VIDEO - Failure while writing and reading video memory.
My card is a NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT. Is it knackered and causing my PC to crash? Am I going to have to fork out on a new one? Should I get the same card or are there other ones to be looking at?
