So what I'm aiming for is a nice 24 inch+ monitor that runs 1080p with a price cap of about $550.
What I want to do with it is to run a PC off of it and an Xbox 360 out of it without a jumble of wires meaning I would have an HDMI Cable from the Xbox to the Monitor and the standard cable from the PC to the Monitor.
The monitor I've come up with so far is the
Samsung 2493HM. It's a good size and a good price with a DC of 10000:1 and built in speakers however there is one reported issue.
The one problem is that in 1080p it either stretches the image from 1920x1080 to 1920x1200 or scales the whole image up causing the left and right to get clipped instead of displaying black space above and below the image to keep the image 1920x1080.
So I'm not sure if that's really a big deal or if I should look for another one. The Samsung T240 looks good but it has no speakers (though it says it has digital/audio support for HDMI which I'm guessing is a headphone jack or something).
Any input or help would be appreciated.
