Black Stone Cherry

Black Stone Cherry hails from Edmonton, Kentucky, a small, rural town in the south central part of the state. According to bandmembers, none of whom were born before 1983, the lack of anything to do in their hometown, coupled with a rich musical background in their town and families, led them to start playing music. Lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Robertson met drummer John Fred Young (the son of Kentucky Headhunters forming member Richard Young) in school, and the two played music together throughout high school. In June of 2001, Black Stone Cherry officially formed with guitarist Ben Wells and bassist Jon Lawhon. The group began holding shows at old-time music clubs in the area, and after a short while, they gained a large following of people of all ages in the town. The band recorded their first album for In De Goot/Roadrunner Records, and after they returned from the recording session, Black Stone Cherry held a homecoming concert at the local high school. The self-titled debut album was released in July of 2006.

I'm suprised they don't have a thread. There really good. Lonely Train is on Smackdown VS Raw 2007.

I listened to Black Stone Cherry on the Roadrunner website while they were still pretty obscure. I downloaded Lonely Train and found that I really liked it. I've never got around to listening to any more of their stuff though.

I have Rain Wizard, Hell and High Water and Lonely Train. They are quite good, and I am currently looking for their album.

I'm listening to 'Lonely Train' now, pretty good stuff I have to say. I thought it was going to be post-grunge when it started off, sort of like Seether or something, but the riff definetely removed any trace of that. Not a bad song at all, I'll probably check out some more stuff by these guys at some point.

This band is good for a hard rock/metal band. Rain Wizard is a cool song.

I seen them at the kentucky state fair last night and they rocked, they opened up for saliva.....Kicked Ass

Just bought Folklore and Superstition today, definatly on the same level as the self titled album, if not better.
