Seriously, who gives a shit what kind of image any bleeping band portrays. All that should matter is how their music sounds. And while BMTH first album may have been a bit more like typical Deathcore, but I haven't heard anything in the Deathcore/Metalcore area that sounds like their second album. And I get tired of hearing how all this is a trend. Personally I only know one other person who actually is a big BMTH fan. I swear, as soon as any Metal band gets a bit of somewhat big recognition they are a trend/sell-out. Shit that gets played on the radio and is listened to by the majority of teenagers and the population, that's real trend and sell-out music. My friend, I'm not attacking the fact that they're image conscious, if you happened to miss that. I'm clarifying for people like Wolfenstein who's in denial about it. If you're trying to tell anyone off, looks like it's going to affect him more than me, since you're further affirming the point that imagery goes very hand-in-hand with modern music. And on that note, while it's not the determining factor, I do give a shit what sort of image they portray. And if you look at a band's fanbase, you'll find yourself biting your tongue considering that the majority will base half or more of their love for a band on the image. You think BMTH is considered a "scenester" band for no reason? Take a look at all the mimicry among a mass of their fanbase. That shit's no coincidence. It's a trend, and I'm sure there are a handful who went for music first before they saw what BMTH looked like (though I have some doubts considering their popularity and readily-available portfolio of photoshoots and what have you), and, gasp enjoyed the sound without considering what their friends might think. Sadly, today's impressionable youth are themselves very image conscious and the scene kids especially work particularly hard at it. The stereotypes exist for a reason. The crowds and masses sporting similar trendy haircuts, wearing skinny jeans, black band t-shirts, American Apparel hoodies, etc. are very real. You can't go to a show in Portland or Seattle without seeing them all around you. And that's the trend I'm bleepin' talking about. I give it a few years before the image evolves (or devolves, as the case has been), morphs into a new trend, associates it with a different form of music, and onward culture moves. Understand I'm not going after anyone in particular. I'm not attacking the scene kids. I'm passive about the whole thing and just roll my eyes about it because frankly, someone's going to listen to what they want, dress how they like, and if those two things happen to be associated in society, it's not my fault or theirs. That's just society. bleep it, I'm living my life regardless of how many non-individuals I have to pass on the street (that being, many), and the days of the boombox are dead and gone, so I'm not worried about hearing BMTH blasting through a set of lo-fi speakers on some scenester's shoulder. My opinion stands: I don't like their sound, I don't like this trend and what people do to be a part of it, and I think the majority listen to said bands for the wrong reasons. That's really your call. Karl: I get the dynamics of screaming, thanks. Mine sounds nothing like Oli's because I don't have his exact anatomical arrangement in my vocal chords. His are rough and scratchy like someone who's using their throat more than their diaphragm. That's a quick ticket to all sorts of wonderful sicknesses, especially if you're not going out of your way to take care of it. Not inferring anything about him; how should I know what he's doing to sooth it or further destroy it (i.e. drinking, smoking). I could be wrong about that, but to me, it just sounds like he's got a lot of patching up to do if he plans to keep it going. ------------------- WTB purpose / will trade indie cred.

	There are quite a few helpful youtube videos that helped me. I have the basics, I just can't get the volume. But to what I wanted to ask, I wanted to get into BMTH, and I enjoy music similar to them, but I want to know which songs to get. Any help? ------------------- nah.
