This guys rock. They're just great.
favorite song: Joker and the Thief

Wolfmother rocks. I've only heard a few songs, namely "Woman" and "The Joker And The Thief," but I loved both songs. This is the band that really got me into stoner rock. The Led Zeppelin touch they have is what really gets me, though.

Personally enjoy Wolfmother. They aren't earth-shatteringly brilliant but their songs aren't bad, Woman especially always gives me an adrenaline rush.

Obviously they're influenced by Zeppelin and other classic rock bands but who isn't in this genre? I've very rarely heard new innovative music in today's industry, and whenever something new comes along it's usually copied and five new bands with the same sound within a week.

And The Eclipse is right a few pages back AG, Hendrix may have released some shit in his time but that doesn't mean Zeppelin weren't influenced by him

Ah well, not that surprised, hadn't heard anything about them for ages. They were still magic at Oxegen a couple years ago though.

That sucks, I really liked them. Sounded a lot like Led Zep to me, which can never be a bad thing.

It seems Wolfmother are back.

I too thought they had disbanded, and the frontman, Andrew Stockdale, had started his new band, White Feather.

But it seems that both the drummer, Miles Heskett, and bassist/keyboardist, Chris Ross left the band due to "irreconcilable differences". Seems that Stockdale held onto the name Wolfmother, and started a new band, this time a four-piece, only playing one gig as White Feather, before making everyone aware that Wolfmother was still alive, and had only had a line-up change, with his band-mates from White Feather filling in the positions.

Their new album, Cosmic Egg, is penned to be released on the 13th of October, 2009 and is "Heavier [than Wolfmother] and riff-driven".


I had no clue about all of this until I looked at my tickets for AC/DC's Australian leg of their Black Ice tour and saw Wolfmother was supporting them. I couldn't believe my eyes, although I'm skeptical, I'm not entirely sure I'll like their album if they move into 'heavier' territory.
