I just compared Skullflower to Acts I, II, III, and IV from The Tiger and the Duke album, and I agree with you one hundred percent on this one. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of The Tiger and the Duke, it looks to be a lot better than the upcoming album, though we can always hope the rest of the tracks are a lot better.

I've always liked the lead singer from Chiodos, so I think this band has a lot of potential. We'll just have to give this album a fair chance until a few more tracks are released.

I downloaded Lover, the Lord has Left Us... today and listened to it all the way through.

I must say it's very strange to say how I feel about this album. About halfway through listening I was a little disappointed. I was expecting it to be fast, or atleast some fast songs like on Tiger & the Duke. But there really isn't one like that on the entire album.

Although after listening to it, the ending tracks are much better then the beggining ones. I don't know why, but they just are. "This Heat" is an amazing track. It's ten and a half minutes long, and I love every second of it.

That is the only one that comes to my mind off the top of my head, but all I remembered was "This Heat" being a phenomenal track.

Any other thoughts on this album?

God, after a day, this album REALLY grew on me. "My Horse Must Lose" and "The Heretic" are other amazing tracks on the album. I have no idea why they chose "Skullflower" to be their single. The foreign singer makes me giggle at times during "Skullflower".

And I don't know.. There's just something about this album that takes me to another place. And I absolutely love it.

And a friend of mine takes German, and I somewhat translated the whole "Stockhausen, Es Ist Ihr Gehirn, Das Ich Suche" thing. Stockhausen means "cane houses", which he thought maybe meant like a drug house, or something like that. The only thing he knows for sure is that stockhausen is a type of house that's plural. Then the rest is, "It is your brain that I see." And that leads me to a question, is German the only other language on the album that, that girl sings?

And Mother Earth, if you think it's too experimental, what do you think of the lyrics? I think some of them are really well written. Because I'm assuming the instrumentals are the most part of the experimentalness that you don't like.

I honestly can't remember much about the lyrics really, I'm not too picky about lyrics though, not a big lyric person (good lyrics are obviously a plus, but they don't make or break a song for me). There is just something about the way the songs are structured that I don't like, I think it's too much focus on the beats/electronics in most of the songs.

haha Kid A is my favourite Radiohead album too, Idioteque is my least favourite song on it becasue of the beat though. I really dislike a few of the songs on Amnesiac. I guess there is a very fine line between beats/electronics that I like and don't like, I'm very picky. The Heretic is okay, and a couple other songs have their moments, but overall it's not for me.

I like these guys a lot. Very experimental, but it usually plays to their advantage, in my opinion. I've heard about 5 or 7 songs, and I hope that with each new album of theirs they try something different each time. My favorite songs are still "Horses In The Sky" and "All Is Ash Or The Light Shining Through It".

Also, whatever happened to "The Tiger And The Duke"? I can't find it on Allmusic, Amazon, Equal Vision, TSOAF's site, anywhere. I always assumed it was a normal CD but was it a limited EP or something? Because I can't seem to find any trace of it.

Tiger & the Duke was on some other record label I think, not Equal Vision Records. It was really indie as hell compared to Lover, the Lord Has Left Us...
