quote KujasSilverDragon... There's being bigheaded, and there's just... I don't know how to describe this. I think their egos are getting bigger and bigger by the new albums they release. Last year when I saw Trivium, they just acted like their shit didn't stink, but they didn't wear Trivium shirts. Just...wow. quote think of somethingJust stole what I was going to say about Shogun, except there were no 'bad' riffs, just mediocre (among some good) riffs. -------------------

I've seen Trujillo wear a Metallica shirt on stage, aswell as various Iron Maiden members do the same. What's the difference if Trivium do it? Is it because they aren't a celebrated band like the above two are?

I don't see what the problem is. Are fans really that fickle that a member of a band cannot wear their own bands shirt without uproar, i mean personally if i was in a band i would be first and foremost a fan of my band. I mean the band are making music for them and just them the fact that others like it is a bonus, so due to that obviously the band are going to be fans of their own music hense wearing their merchandise which i assume they would also like as most design their own stuff, or atleast aid the designers in the design...

I saw this band in Louisville with All That Remains and 36 Crazyfists. While I enjoy Trivium, All That Remains blows them out of the water, no questions asked. The only song I really even like a little is Ascendancy. I mean, they put on a great show and everything and everyone knows about them, but they just fail to deliver with their music.

quote XodusTrujillo can wear a Metallica shirt, he's a fan of Metallica, Remember he's only been with the band just over 5 years, he can still be a fan of their old stuff. Why would you wear your own shirt unless everything else was in the laundry? It's like "HERE LET ME PROMOTE MY BAND WITH MY OWN SHIRT WHILST PLAYING A LIVE SHOW WHICH IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING.". If it was a smaller band, I could understand. Trivium is just full of themselves.
If Trivium does something, it's not metal! So just to reiterate, things that are not metal: -Regurgitating Metallica. -Wearing your own band's shirts on stage. -Being Matt Heafy.

Who gives a flying *bleep* whether they copy someone or not? I have Shogun and I don't hear remnance of Metallica riffs in it or not, sure the singing is similar, but James Hetfield sure as shit can't sing that good anymore.
Also, I suppose Metallica, Iron Maiden and Megadeth members are wrong for wearing their own shirts when they perform live too eh? Also, the acoustic bit at the start of Kirisute Gomen, if you sing the chorus of the song Shogun to it, you will realise the two melodies are identical. There's a few connections songs have to other songs on Shogun too. ------------------- ![]() 22/08/08 11/10/08

Shogun is a good step in the right direction for the band. They did a good job at making it heavy and memorable at the same time. It's good live too.

Aye, Shogun takes the tiny bits of what was good from The Crusade, and combined them with a lot of the brilliant Ascendancy, and have made a solid album.
Does Matt scream live now?

I always thought that Matt screamed on Shogun, considering he said "I'm going to bring back the screaming."

Matt screams on Shogun and live. I saw them in October 2008. Corey does some screaming live though, but not all.
