Entrance To The Conflagration, Anthem and Detonation all remind me of Old Metallica. Especially Entrance To The Conflagration with just it's sound to it.

Just got the leak of the new album and its poor, i am so dissapointed right now, i was expecting it to be somewhat like "Ascendancy" with a few songs atleast and its not even close, its like Metallica and its like listening to a Metallica tribute band if that.

So far there are no songs on this new album that i like, "Ascendancy" was an album full of songs i liked this is the absolute opposite, so glad i got a leak of it, if i had bought it i would have taken it back by now.

Hey its not that band man, I got it too and i like it. You have to give it a chance........how can you not like the riffs and MANY fast solos?? Sure, it is different, but it is also good.

There is a bit of screaming, i wish there was more. But the songs are much more technical...which is good.

The vocals will need some getting used to though.

By the way, all the songs on the cd are way better than the 3 the band released (detonation, anthem, entrance). IMO those are the worst on the cd.

Haha the only good part of the album is the solo's because thats when Matt Heafy shuts up to concetrate, the rest of the album was rather poor in my opinion it was part Metallica, part Dragonforce with a smidge of classic Trivium.

I couldn't even listen to the album a second time, heard all 13 tracks and didn't like a single one and thats saying alot because until this album i loved everything Trivium ever made.

I may try to listen again tommorow but the whole album is a joke in my opinion, deffinately not what i was expecting, sure the 3 songs they released were crappy but i wasn't expecting the other 10 to follow suit.

I agree with N353. Ascendancy is far superior to this album. The Crusade is a poor excuse for a Metallica tribute album; the best songs on it are only mediocre when compared to their older stuff.

The album is starting to grow on me, but i'm not a huge fan of albums that have to be listened up to 6 times in my case to actually start to shine through, because that means the songs aren't that good you just become familiar with them.

Anyway my original rating of 1/10 for this album has moved up to a 5/10 still not amazing but its better than it was last night.

The Crusade is sure to be my favourite all time album soon. Been listening to Detonation, The Crusade, Anthem and Entrance of the Conflgration for a few weeks now and I can't get enough of their Metallica style.

Should hopefully have every song on the album in the next day or so as the album has been leaked, can't wait until it comes out.

But have you heard the whole album? There is a range of songs and I believe them to be quite different. If you have just heard a couple of their new songs then it's not fair for you to say you don't like the album as you haven't heard all the songs.

Well, I'll give it another spin. I didn't like Ascendacy the first time I heard it, but after a while I loved it so maybe this will do the same. But then again, I can't shake the pesy feeling that theres more "metallica" sounding songs and I hate metallica
