I dont get how you guys can listen to metal music and then not like screaming
 you guys are nuts. Triviums perfect balance of singing and screaming is my favorite part. There's just enough singing so that it isnt screaming overkill. and to that person who said Matt's vocals sounded bad live, I saw them live when they toured with Bodom, and Matt sounded fine to me... | |

So you guys know, a song from the upcoming Trivium album is available for download, details about it here. I listened to it the other day, sounds solid to me. Nothing spectacular but pretty solid I feel.

Detonation is a good first single for the new cd. I think the 3 solos in the song are more talented than some on Ascendancy.

Woah that cover art looks seriously good.
The new single sounds pretty good. It has thrash metal feel to it (Metallica written all over it tbh), which is always nice. I'm glad they have abandoned the screamo (yuk!) vocals, let's just hope the same vocal theme carries on throughout the new album. Vocals were the only thing that I didn't like much about them. It would be awesome if these guys start using even harsher vocals (without screaming), but it might upset few mallcore kiddies.  -------------------  | |

I think the cover above is still only concept art, but it's better than the rest of the others they've manufactured. Am I the only person who thinks Detonation has a Opeth/Bodom styling to it?

I don't think it looks like a Bodom cover. Bodom covers = featuring Roy the Grim Reaper.  Opeth covers, I'm not too sure, but I remember Blackwater Park or something had a very kind of tranquil look to it. ------------------- | |

I just heard one of their songs from their site, and his vocals do sound better than on Trivium. I just hope Matt at least tries to sound like that on Trivium's new record.
