Getting away with murder was ruined by the radio like they do to so many songs. It was played way too often so I lost interest in it. I like the new song scars though.

That's right.

I hate the nu-metal tag on bands... it's basicaly what people call bands that are in the mainstream that play metal.

Well I have heard only like 2 or 3 slipknot songs, one was duality which was alrite but nothing I would bother to buy or download, the others can't remember anything bar lots of incoherant shouting.

Papa roach have lyrics you can understand, good music behind the lyrics and Jacoby has a cool voice for rap, singing and shouting.

Duality is a great song, no doubt, but you have to dig a little deeper to discover how awesome Slipknot --past and present, are. You like Papa Roach, and that's cool... But before you call Slipknot nothing but a bunch of incoherent shouting, try to understand that Papa Roach is nothing but mainstream pop-metal and doesn't even know the meaning behind 'guitar-solo.'

There is no such thing as mainstream. Apart from gay mainstream. Pop music is generalising too much. I hate genres.

But I can't argue over the fact that you think PR is better than Slippy-K. I can't change your strange opinion, I like both bands but think Slippy-K are much better.

Duality is a good song and Slipknot write better lyrics IMO, i'm just not for the whole "this is my last resort/ cut my arm bleeding dont give a *bleep* kill myself" shit. it just portrays itself as weakness to me.

That's why I like HARDCORE music so much, because it's about standing up for what you believe in and no shit from anyone etc.

It's just the Pop generilisation, saying that anything that is popular is "pop", like it has a certain sound. Just that the average pop-artist is just a singer , not a band.

And all of the Slipknot songs I heard (all of them) only one or two of them have Corey saying he wants to die , but not like actualy like "IM GONNA *bleep*ING KILL MYSELF" suicidal stuff etc... although Slipknot have written little about suicide. They wouldn't write a whole song on it, and if there are a few lines on it, you must remember, Corey Taylor was actualy gone through a lot in his life

Many of their songs are about anger or love, and in vol 3 there were plenty of songs about love...

Don't get me wrong I like Papa Roach, but they can't even touch Slippy-K.

But the one thing that it boils down to, is that Slipknot could beat the shit out of Papa Roach in a wrestling match.
