Guys, great news! they've put like a compilation of songs from the new album on their myspace, all of them sound brilliant too, can't wait till the album comes out

it's about damn time... i am a big porcupine tree fan, it's too bad they don't have as much recognition as they should. in absentia & deadwing are 2 of my favorite albums, i'm still workin on gettin some of their earlier work.

...i also can't wait to get the new album.

i love porcupine tree. im glad they are being featured here because this thread needs more posts. currently learning blackest eyes on bass.

Well, I've heard the entire leaked album. Although the songs have obviously not been mastered yet, I can't say I like the lyrics much; they mainly focused on neglectful parents and the degenerate materialism of society. Essentially, Steven is beating a long dead horse. However, I did like the music and atmosphere a lot, especially in Anesthetize.

I honestly can't even remember a solo, despite liking that song quite a bit. That probably isn't a good sign.

In the latest Classic Rock issue Steven is asked, "In a nutshell, what is the album about?"

His reply. "It's written from the perspective of a kid growing up with all the usual distractions - the internet, PlayStations, X-Boxes, iPods, mobile phones, prescription drugs. It's also about the way that the younger generation listens to, downloads and discards music, as a microcosm of modern life."

Classic Rock gave the album nine out of ten. That doesn't really say much for me because it's mostly in opinion, but I can't help really looking forward to it. >_< All I've heard is what they have on MySpace.
