I kinda liked Illmatic, loathed It Was Written except for The Message which I love, liked I Am, wasn't a fan of Nastradamus... then Stillmatic, Lost Tapes and to a lesser extent God's Son got me back on his fanbase.
Never forget Nas is a sheisty guy and I'm a Cormega fan until they kiss and make up. Nas sheisted the whole of Queens around the time of Stillmatic, now Mobb Deep, Nature, NORE (he got dissed right?) and the urban legend Cormega are against him (the Cormega beef is much much deeper than the Jay-Z beef, I'd write an essay on it but you don't know who Corey is, well you might do, in that case kudos for the realness), also having Roc-La-Familia hating isn't the best thing in the world, although D-Block's doing aight.

Well actually, as far as attacks go, Don't Body Yourself was pretty weak, especially in comparison to the Stillmatic Freestyle and Ether.
Who'd have guessed Nas'd have his work cut out for him.

Besides it being IllSeed, check:

the QB General cleared the whole entire back stage to make plenty of room for him and his crew. Now that means he bumped cats like Visionaries, Non Phixion, Supernatural, Jurassic Five, Hieroglyphics and others. I hear some cats were STEAMED at Nas for doing that to them. link Rumour but if that's true then I too am steamed, what a jackass.
That's right M, he shitted on J5! now who's your hero!?

Quite a few people got it and it's a solid effort. A 6 out of 10 kind of effort.
God's Son, Street's Disciple, Hip Hop Is Dead... Cormega needs to hurry the *bleep* up with Urban Legend.

So I look that up and learn some things and find another Pete Rock production, that makes the total listened to amount to: about 11 soul brothering tracks. Is there anything beeflike Ministers can't squash!?
Considering how aledgedly close N is to release I haven't heard any hype (or tracks) aside from the attention seeking title, maybe he's as bored as the rest of us.

It'll sink no more than anything else released this year, the name'll be fine but maybe Dow Jones or The N would have been wiser selections.
I didn't bother to listen to the one track that's doing the rounds because Khaled irritates me, true stories.

What's the name of it? Nas likes to get attention... like a child. Nowerdays I like the first 4 tracks and then it sort of withers away after Thiefs Theme 2 and who killed it, in regards to hhid. Nothing I'd class as bad on it.

Nas Speaks On Jay Electronica. Jay's on the new Nas album and I'm super chuffed about that. I'm now officially hyped for the album entitled: *bleep*. One of these days someone'll post in his thread just you wait haha.

Regardless they've changed the title from *bleep* to NaS... so self titled. Like anyone gives a shit I just want the fine folks at Jam to release it. In other news: I listened through Nas' The Lost Tapes today, I maintain that that was his best album start to finish and I hope Alchemist winds up with some production credits on the new one.

Illmatic still hasn't grown on me, unlike It Was Written & I Am which I grew with... Nas: Something Foul. Streets Disciple outtake. (on some went for mine/new york shit).

I threw Illmatic and I Am onto my harddrive then ipod today, I then proceeded to bump through I Am twice and then skimmed through Illmatic.
I Am clicked with me years later but I bought them both about 8 years ago, Illmatic dislikes me in it's refusal to click.
NY State of Mind II ftw.

My Will, Book of Rhymes, Mastermind, Revolutionary Warfare, Thugz Mirror, My Way, No Ideas Original... I think I'd rather hear an Alchemist/Nas LP than a Preemo/Nas one.
The back and forth of Nas and Damian Marley is catchy business from the snippets, I now anticipate the album.

re: Nas

quote Nas.
From: Nas To: LA Reid, Steve Bartels, Steve Gawley, Michael Seltzer, Joseph Borrino, Chris Hicks Subject: PUT MY SHIT OUT!
Peace to all,
With all do respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY’s slave. This is not the 1800′s, respect me and I will respect you.
I won’t even tap dance around in an email, I will get right into it. People connect to the Artist @ the end of the day, they don’t connect with the executives. Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again its the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist’s dream and aspirations. You don’t help draw the truth from my deepest and most inner soul, you don’t even do a great job @ selling it. The #1 problem with DEF JAM is pretty simple and obvious, the executives think they are the stars. You aren’t…. not even close. As a matter of fact, you wish you were, but it didn’t work out so you took a desk job. To the consumer, I COME FIRST. Stop trying to deprive them! I have a fan base that dies for my music and a RAP label that doesn’t understand RAP. Pretty *bleep*ed up situation
This isn’t the 90′s though. Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about “my label.” I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason……. they believed in me. The didn’t give a *bleep* about what any radio station or magazine said….those dudes had me.
Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It’s smart and after 5 years it’s still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I’m feeling is disturbing. Don’t get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog shit on a MAGICAL moment.
You don’t get another Nas recording that doesn’t count against my deal….PERIOD! Keep your bullshit $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain’t many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don’t even have shit coming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let’s get money!
-N.Jones Lost Tapes 2, coming soon.

Someone should probably leak it LT 2, like Nas. He says his new album will be better than Untitled which you'd hope it would be really. DJ Premier is DJing on his tour dates. And I think I had a fever dream about an album with Mobb Deep because I can't find any info anywhere edit- whoop. He likes Frank Ocean also. And should be working with Jay Elec more, and drop a Premo album. Edit: May 29, 11

Nasty is preposterous.
Haven't heard a joint like this from Nasir since a couple of stray shots on Street's Disciple. Hopefully it doesn't prove to be an exception on the new jawn.

A testament to Heavy D, God bless.
What a *bleep*ing tune, the flip bridge is crazy, and the bassline? dude. Nas is doing it right this round, only dropping hard shit, it won't equal sales but can you imagine a whole album of this and Nasty?
