I really like Darts of Pleasure, Take Me Out, and Matinee. They're great songs but the only ones I've got, wil probably get the ones advised by BigRedMachine

Nice find dude, I'm already downloading it
Oh by the way, about the info on them, I was watching an interview with them on some music channel(MTV2 I think) and they said that Take Me Out was actually their second single released and they had released Darts of Pleasure before that but I guess as they were so unknown they didn't do very well with it

I still think one of their best songs is that one I found that isn't on the album "don't start" That's a cover, I downloaded it and I recognized it straight away....I just can't remember who did the original!

I think Auf Achse is the best song on the album myself, I like Jacqueline and all but I prefer Auf Achse, Dark of the Matinee is probably my second fave

I'd say they are British Punk Rock myself.
I'd compare them a little to "Blur" If you compare them to Blur then shouldn't you classify them as indie?
That's the genre I'd say they are, but they're a hard band to classify

Damn I missed it
If they're finishing recording in April how long do you think it will be till the release the new album? August? September?
And I'll always call Franz Ferdinand FF, I like the Foo Fighters but prefer Franz

I'm not sure about it if it's true, I ain't heard him sing but I think their current singer is good

re: Franz Ferdinand

Just saw a video exclusive of the new FF single Do You Want To on Channel 4 (UK), good song. Thankfully they've kept to the style they had in their first album, I don't think the song is as good as any of the singles from their debut album though
But it was still good as I'm sure their new album will be

re: Franz Ferdinand

The single is released 19th September, but the album You Could Have Done So Much Better With Franz Ferdinand isn't released until 3rd October
The video is weird, completely different to their other videos. They in a room full of people and they just do random things while singing to the camera, at one point they appear to do the Pink Floyd cover with a guy shaking hands with someone on fire (although the guy on fire is a dummy) and at one point the singer is hanging off bicycles attached the ceiling( ). The song is like their old stuff though, but with more emphasis on the bass riff and the whole band sings through most of it

I saw the new video on Kerrang this week, the video and song is much better than Do You Want To IMO.

I was at the final (at least I think it was the final) gig at Alexandra Palace last night. It was awesome, sadly I couldn't stay for the encore, but they had already played all the best songs; Auf Achse, Take Me Out, Michael, The Fallen, Walk Away, The Dark of the Matinee, Tell Her Tonight, Do You Want To and so on_^

Auf Achse was awesome live, as was Take Me Out and Come On Home.
At the show on Saturday I missed the first support act but the second was The Cribs who were good.

true I suppose. The mainstream will ruin a band. 10 bucks says Billie Joe Armstrong kills himself in the next 5 years.
On another note I only know of the two Franz Ferdinand albums, Franze Ferdinand, and You Could have it so much better. Any other ones that someone can confirm exists? Those are their only two albums.
I doubt it will ruin them, they became instantly mainstream and haven't changed their style really.

It depends where you're from really. For example, here in the UK they're one of the biggest bands in the country

I've got a sneaking suspicion that Franz will be releasing some new material soon. They have been getting a lot of radio play lately, after a 5 or 6 month silence where none of their songs were getting any play at all. Seems to me that this points to the stars all aligning in favor of Franz Ferdinand and their creative juices will start flowing. I predict news of a new album with a few months, five at most. Well they just released a more poppy version of Eleanor Put Your Boots On. I haven't heard it, but my friend tells me it's awful, which is a shame cause I felt it was the best song on their new album, and it was the best song they did when I saw them live.

I've got it, and I'm impressed by it. It's a different sound, miles better than their second album. Not sure how much I like it in comparison to the debut though, it doesn't have any real stand out tracks like the debut but I think overall it's a solid album. Not a track on it that I dislike.
