This thread needs to be more active. Their new album comes out July 24th, and from the few songs i have heard, it sounds good! The cd is a new direction for the band:)

Well Sum 41's new cd came out today. Underclass Hero.

Its a good cd, but its really too bad the man who made the band is gone....Dave Brownsound.

The singer, Deryk, wrote and played all guitar parts on the cd, and he isnt even close to matching Daves skill. The cd is a big step down in sound from Chuck.

Underclass Hero is terrible, reminds me of Green Day.

Reminds me of emo punk actually, with the whole "sorry mom but I don't miss you" thing.

I've heard 3 songs from it, and they're truly awful.

I never thought that the loss of Brownsound would result in Sum 41 becoming Green Day

I noticed the lyrical content on this record are some of the best. Deryk even used some religious words and references such as in the song count your last blessings and the jester. The lyrics on the cd are some of the bands best. Also, the song king of contradiction has some interesting lyrics:

Yes , now the last 25% metal is gone out of the band it's gonne get that soft punk status again.

What i shame , i really likes chuck , ive heard that cd till is burned itself to death .

I actually REALLY like this new CD. I think it's amazing. Especially Count Your Last Blessings.

I'm going along Imperial Zhou Tai. I love the new album. I would actually go so far as to say that its one of my favorite Sum 41 albums.

I still sort of like a few of their songs.


Nostalgia I suppose.
