EricF If it's ways to improve the forum you're looking for, there's one I've seen on another forum but it may not work so well here. They basically post at least 10(14?) songs every week and members are encouraged to listen to a snippet of each song and then vote on the ones they like the most, so you end up listening to a bit of what different artists offer in the possibility of discovering something new while showing what you liked at the same time. Having said that, it's primarily a Hard Rock/Metal forum and having a few songs from a range of genres beyond band subgenres may be hard to encourage others with. It''s just wishful thinking, it works well over there but if this place is in a slump...well, it's just a suggestion.

Damn, I rarely visit this forum, but if hip-hop has taken over I guess that's...alright!

Tbh having good ideas for a music forum would be harder than say a game forum because of its diversity. There was this other idea where you post a song you get hooked on and tell your own story through it, but that could get boring too. Something to encourage new members would be cool, like a playlist thread to use while browsing Neo, but I'm just the random bypasser, a couple of suggestions never hurt.

Maaaan, where have you been!? This is more or less a rap/hip-hop forum these days haha. I blame The Hazard for that.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, but getting people to participate after a little while might become tiresome. I think discussion is generally what seems to work most around here, and games come and go. We had a great "guess the album cover" game a couple of years back that was really good, but again, after a little while people grew tired of it. But with that said, if you wanna give it a go, that'd be cool. Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless!

I'll feel like a fish out of water by the time the awards come around again, with all you hip-hop fans. I'll need to brush up!

I will apply basically because I know I am good at prettying things up and keeping people in line. Also, event planning is fun stuff.

Lastly, I don't see any of you hip hop fans posting in the Marcus D thread so I am a little butthurt.

It was fun until people just started looking for the most obscure bands covers they could find.

And we did have a Neo Radio in the music forum at least. People would upload 3 songs somewhere and no names were given out until the end of the week. A new host was picked for the next week and so forth. But yeah, copyright laws are a bitch sometimes lol, It was a cool idea though and I heard some cool songs I wouldn't otherwise have.

it'd probably be a lot easier nowadays.
