alternative Public Image Limited (PiL)

Quite surprised not to see a thread about PiL yet... Well, for those of you who don't know, Post Sex Pistols, John Lydon moved onto Public Image Limited, in which he continued onto 'Experimental Music', and to be quite honest, I genuinely think it's a vast improvement on his previous works.



My dad brought me up with this band, and I think they are absolutely amazing. I was brought up with these alongside the Sex Pistols. For anyone who's interested, they released a recent album entitled 'This is PiL', which was a bit more out there, and some songs were quite difficult to listen to,(typical John Lydon). So, for those of you who have seen their previous works, what do you think of them? What's your favourite song? What do you think of John's latest attempts at music?

I think Pearl Jam did a cover of public image, I think I like that one better.
I've never been a fan of John Lyndon's singing but still a good song.

I remember having to hunt the crap out of Metal Box when I was a teen and just buying the CD pressing instead. Solid, eerie anti-pop music and way different than your other punk fodder of the time. I didn't know they were active again or hadn't been following very closely, would probably make for a damn good show.
