Since the Weekly Recommendation thread, I've still been spinning Blawan, so I think it deserved the first thread transition of the bunch, seeing as people still seemed to be happy talking about him. Hoping Shattered Silence doesn't mind.


Loving Blawan as a low fi kinda groove to melt away too. I'm using it for when I'm studying, as the constant drumbeat keeps me tuned in to what I'm doing, something that would tire me/annoy me in other dance beats.

Great music for its subtle complexity, yet an ability to be used as background beats.

I'd say that would be really good. But I'd say if I was hearing Blawan in a club, I'd be just kinda grooving to it, with no real urge to go for it and dance or anything. It would still be awesome to chill to, for me at least.

blawan is amazing, managed to cop the 'getting me down' whitelabel back in the summer.
'what you do with what you have' is massive too, still need to get around to copping that

I knew the Bon Iver bit, although I saw them in the Grand Canal Theatre before, which was just perfect, so I'm wary of going to see them in the O2 now. Have never been mad about it for gigs. Prefer smaller venues! Hence liking Twisted Pepper! Even better than the Academy for me, may have to look into that! That'll probably be a 'drag a mate along on the night if I'm not busy' job.
