The only part of Willing Well I like (besides The Final Cut) is the end of part II, the very end.

Overall it's the weakest part of the album for me.

I'm gonna check out the live versions now, because I've listened to the whole album hundreds of times so I doubt listening to it more will do it any justice! I'd just prefer if the first two tracks from The Willing Well were a little darker (lyrically, I'm sure they are as is the whole album).

"So cry on bitch, why aren't you laughing now?" - probably my favorite line from the entire album. It just makes me happy. I don't know why. From The Willing Well III: Apollo II: The Telling Truth. Although the same line is on Apollo I: The Telling Truth as well, IIRC.

That's the one thing that I loved about The Year of the Black Rainbow as well -- the lyrics. Not a huge fan of the music, the first three albums trumped YOTBR as far as music goes, in my opinion. Although the opening to "World Of Lines" gets my super-hyped, enough so to punch a baby unicorn in the face, and I always find myself tapping my foot to "When Skeletons Live". Always. However... "Made Out Of Nothing (All That I Am)" and "This Shattered Symphony" are probably two of my favorite Coheed songs, from a lyrical standpoint. I also love The Black Rainbow itself; it's not as epic as I think the band wanted to make it, but it's very well done regardless. Very dark. That maniacal laughter at the end of the track, which I can tell is coming from Claudio's mouth, is very awesome.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I would've taken the three exclusive songs on that album ("Chamberlain", "The Lost Shepherd", and "Hush") over some other songs on the album. Especially "Guns Of Summer"... by far my least favorite track on the album. "Hush" is amazing.

Hell yes. :3 Had the special addition on pre-order, got the novel, the DVD, and the CD. No exclusive songs, but that's what Youtube and a Youtube-to-MP3 downloader are for. I've got all the comics, and the two novels. Haven't gotten any of the Key of Z comics yet though.

Well, yeah, you were saying you wished they were a little darker lyrically, right? So I was making the point that it's one of the darkest points in the album, along with Welcome Home. Get yourself clued up on the story and it'll make a lot more sense too. Just sayin'!

That was really really really good! Reminds me of No World For Tomorrow, and those sort of disastrous anthem tracks they do on that album. Pity it cuts off, but I know I'm gonna bloody love that track.

Sorry for the double post (again)! But a full version has been posted of Domino: The Destitute, and the ending is epic. I love how into the whole band gets; Josh's drumming is just perfect. Quality is a little bit better, video-wise at least, but about the same audio-wise. I. Need. A. Studio. Version. Now.

EricF - I heard that too, or at least I thought I did, but I guess not. Makes me wonder how much more they can add to The Amory Wars... after the YOTBR prequel, I thought for sure that was going to be it. Claudio has yet to disappoint me yet, though. :3

OH! And while I'm on the subject of the new album... I'm thinking it's going to have a new set of songs to it (like the Velourium Camper songs, or the Willing Well songs). Sentry The Defiant and Domino: The Destitute sound like they belong in a set together.

Also, Claudio hasn't done anything for his Prize Fighter Inferno side-project in a few years. Rightfully so, since he's been hard at work on the new Coheed album, but I'd love to see a new PFI album, or a new Coheed album down the road, that's based off of the Key of Z comics.
