Maybe the British music scene is definitely different to the American but you should at least know J.Cole, haha

the only exposure i have to british music is when i see wacky london types talking about it on the internet. i listened to dubstep a few times. i gotta say, you guys owe the musical world an apology for that one. i dont know about the rest of the country, but people where i'm from don't even acknowledge that a british music scene exists.

then again i'm from a very urban area, and now live in a very rural area. so i went from a place where the culture was basically a real life version of a crime mob video, to a place where the culture is just "lol what's culture?"

that's true, but i suppose it's at least something to go by. sure you can get an idea of a person's general musical interests, but that doesn't mean much, especially on a music website like lastfm where people are likely to expose themselves to lots of different music.

i tried listening to a few european rappers a couple years ago, but there were so few that actually interested me that i didn't get into it. i have no reason to bother knowing what the scene is doing anymore. where i live, if you don't actively check out that stuff yourself, it'll never reach you. british music scene has zero presence here.

Gotta be honest, have no idea who J.Cole is either.

Haha, he's an upcoming rapper that's featured on the Blueprint 3 and stuff. Will probably be quite big.

He's alrightttt, but nothing to go mad for. I haven't heard his new album yet (gunna get on it soon, it's queued) but I'm hearing it's not too hot. Better releases this year.
