Music Forum Review '10 - Best Album - Page 7

I'm loving the assortment of various artists and genres in this year's shortlist, definitely glad to see that a much more diverse audience is participating this time around. Of course, that means very few people are going to like the entire list as a whole, but it's certainly making for a very tight race behind the scenes. In fact, it's so diverse that I hadn't even heard a track off of a few of these albums until this week. Shame I didn't get a chance to listen to 'em all front to back, hate leaving just part marks on the table. Since voting started a day later than originally planned I'm going to leave it open until the 7th to give everyone a chance to voice their say.

I hadn't heard ANY of these albums so over the last few days I've listened to them all throughout; always happy to try to discover some 'new' good music...admittedly in the case of a few albums (positioned at the bottom of my list), I started skipping part way through tracks as it became unbearable

^I quite enjoyed the top 4; they're far ahead of the rest for me. I'd be satisfied if one of the top 8 won overall though I guess^

So there you have it, the best albums of 2010 voted and ordered by you the esteemed music forum visitors.

The contest looked to be heading towards the same shoot-out between Kanye & Arcade Fire that's been reflected in end-of-year critic lists across the publication spectrum, the fact that the Canadian troop triumphed so conclusively here is evident of a band that have once again delivered an album praised by hipsters and hipsters' dads alike.

Thanks to everyone who voted, feel free to use this thread to sound off. Happy with the results or fed-up of under-represented genres, whatever your personal opinion, hopefully this list can at least encourage us all to check out the range of great albums that 2010 gifted us with.

Don't understand the hype behind Villagers at all. Found them to be really boring. But then again I didn't think Suburbs was outstanding either. Little surprised at how low Recovery ranked, I remember seeing a lot of people saying how great it was when it was first released and how Eminem was back to form etc.

i don't listen to indie, and i've never heard of the vast majority of the bands on that list. i just really really can't stand kanye west. i'm looking forward to hearing the black keys album tho, the single was really good.


i thought eminems last single this year was the lamest thing he's ever done, but how he ended up last on the list is beyond me

Odd Blood was probably the worst album I heard last year. Disappointed at that.
