Awesome, awesome, awesome show.

Bossk were the support, which was I pleasantly surprised by because I thought they broke up few years ago. Got the crowd going, the smoke machine was going nuts so couldn't see shit from where we were stood. Best song was that one with the vocals (Truth).

Baroness, kicked stuff off with some ambienty melody (not big surprise there) and straight into A Horse Called Golgotha. Next was a March to the Sea, and I tell you this song tares the place live, it got almost as big of a reaction as the opener. For the next few songs afterwards they played purely Blue Record stuff, it wasn't until the 6th song until they busted out a mini Yellow and Green patch. Eula was just incredible live. Last three songs were from the Red, and got huge cheers. John Baizley ended the gig on the Grad, in the middle of the crowd, going absolutely crazy.

The band themselves were *bleep*ing amazing. They were genuinely humbled by the turn out, and the reception from the crowd. At the end of the show they went into the club itself to meet the fans. Had a brief chat with their new bassist and shook his hand, and he was a total bro.

Oh and their stage set up (see the photo) changed depending on the which album the song was playing. Which is just a nice touch, especially for people who are not familiar with the band's earlier stuff.

Here is the full set-list, a lot of Blue stuff. I guess they will have more Yellow and Green post the official release. I noticed not a lot of people knew how awesome Eula was going to be, when they started playing it.

BAND ACTIVITY

Baroness released their third studio album titled Yellow & Green on July 17, 2012. The album is also a double LP, and features a calmer side to Baroness to its predecessors, with both atmospheric and psychedelic tones being the most predominant throughout the whole album. Overall, it's one of the best albums I've listened to this year thus far, and would recommend it to anyone who has any sort of interest in psychedelic, duel guitar work. In fact, it's probably the best side of their music to check out if you're unfamiliar with their other stuff, and easily their most accessible release to date. Overall, the record lasts just over 75 minutes and it's 75 minutes that sadly passes by at a frantic pace. For those interested in purchasing the album, it's available on Amazon for just £10 (excluding delivery).

Baroness are currently touring Europe (unfortunately not Ireland though, because who cares about Ireland?), then hitting a couple of more spots in England (like Bristol and Kent), then they're back off to tour a bit in America.

Little Things

Took a bit of getting used to but it's growing on me a lot. If it had been the first thing I'd heard of them I'd love it, but just at times I just can't help but want a drop to be heavier. For instance Little Things is a great track and there's a drop at 3:30 that is excellent but when listening I just can't help but compare it to Walking Wintry Winds's drop which is just amazing. Ultimately as with most double albums one really great album could have been made but I'd still rate neither as lower than like an 8, it's just that I'm comparing them to 10s.

On Friday Baroness Members Remain Hospitalized For Bus Crash Injuries was a top story. Here is the recap: Members of Baroness and their crew remain hospitalized following the accident where their tour bus fell 30 feet off of a viaduct on a road outside of Bath, England early on Wednesday morning. Their camp sent over this update:
John Baizley has broken his left arm and left leg. Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni each suffered fractured vertebrae. All three remain in the hospital as of this writing. Pete Adams has been treated and released from the hospital.

Three of the five crew members who were on the bus have also been treated and released. One member is still undergoing testing. The driver of the bus remains in critical condition.

Awful news. Thankfully it wasn't anything worse.

That picture of all the bandages coming off, just brings back horrible flashbacks of a year and a half ago when I had my staples taken out from my left elbow. Looks soo similar, minus 15 stapels. Right down to the outline of the plaster bandage.

How he can even use that arm anymore is an absolute miracle.

From reading what he wrote (and personal experience), I'm pretty sure he can only freely move his fingers at the moment. However I would imagine that arm is tighly locked in that angle, until he can do physio.
