I think pro evolution 4 should definately allow you to dive because it would add another element into the game. Especially when your in a tustle with a player running into the box and they slide in and usually take the ball instead this time you go to ground and the ref points to the spot and they get sent off.

I remember you could dive on one of the old Nintendo 64 Football games, can't remember which one though...

ISS 64, you could hit all the c buttons to perform a dive. Was quite a good edition as you could get yellow carded for it.

Still don't like what it represents in the game, but if you want to be realstic then it should be in.

Hmm diving could be a good adition but it could screw with gameplay a bit as most people would have the urge to keep using it.

I think there should be the option to change the realism in the game. Some people may not like the ultra realistic experience and think it defects from the enjoyment of the game. So really to suit all needs you should be able to put in the fine detail if you so wish.

Always understood that was the rule in the prem, player dives straight yellow.

I think diving is in TIF 2004 and works quite well, so if it's in PES4 it should be even better

I've almost got diving on TIF04 down to perfection, I was playing yesterday against my sisters boyfriend and got the match abandoned as I got 5 of his players sent off for diving. It was pretty funny, however, it did spoil the game as there was no real winner. It is too easy to get away with on TIF, it will have to be perfected to be in the game.

I rented TIF04 a couple of weeks ago and I can't beging to tell you how frustrating the diving was. Maybe I was just so used to PES3's controls but every time I went to do a trick I kept on accidently pressing the dive button and getting booked

Meh, i'm not fussed with diving. Sure it makes it more realistic, but so does adding male streakers and i'm sure most of us don't wan't that
I just don't like what diving does to footie games. I played TIF and it just ruined it. In multiplayer people just do it constantly and it gets stupid. It's almost as bad as the delibriate foul in FIFA (although not as fun... )

It should be on because its part of the game, and its always funny, especially against friends when you do it and they get sent off on TIF

It shouldnt be because you dont see it that often and it could result in stupid, annoying bookings. Anyway some of the fouls on the game include diving already! Its also like PES is copying TIF by adding it, and we dont want that!

Don't forget one important thing with diving though... If you can do it, so can the CPU! Do we really want to give the CPU another excuse for getting free kicks. It's bad enough with the "you've pressed R1 near a player and he's fell over" fouls in PES3... god, if they could dive as well.

Plus, do you not think that you would never get away with it against the CPU? I can't imagine for one minute that the AI would be clever enough to be fooled by a dive.

I don't think there should be a specific button for diving. As that would completely destroy the game. Instead they should make players atomatically dive. For ex. Figo when he is pressed a bit, he just goes down. That would be cool, if "diving" players would atomatically dive, not all the time, but sometimes. Then sometimes the would get away with it, and sometimes not.
