Nintendo has already had great worldwide success with the Alpha Dream-developed role-playing title ‘Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time’ on the DS, but people have been crying out for some more Mario RPG love. Now it seems like Nintendo has listened to its fans and is bringing back Paper Mario.

Whilst Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time has gone on to sell more than a million copies worldwide, people have been clamouring for Nintendo to once more hook-up with Square Enix and revive the classic Super Nintendo title ‘Super Mario RPG’. Sadly nothing has surfaced yet on that front, but if a new rumour is to be believed, then CoroCoro Comics, a popular Japanese publication, is about to lift the lid on news of a Nintendo 64 port of the original Paper Mario for Nintendo DS.

Considering the strong sales of Super Mario 64 DS and Diddy Kong Racing DS, it is rather surprising that more Nintendo 64 games have not been made the transition from 64-bit home console to the touch-screen portable. But now it looks like the work of Intelligent Systems is being relied upon once more to recreate the game, which only recently hit the Virtual Console last year, for the enormously popular DS platform.

The question is, would you be willing to dive in and pick this up for possibly the third time if enough extras were included? And what other classic Nintendo 64 games would be worthy of making the transition to Nintendo DS? This news is awesome! Hopefully it's true! I'm glad it isn't an all-new Paper Mario, but a port of the first one. For some reason, I like the idea of playing new Paper Mario games on systems like the Wii and Gamecube.

I just hope they add a lot more to this to make it worth buying for people who have already played the game. I'd love a whole new chapter with a whole new partner, but I don't think they'll put so much effort into the game.

This can only be good, as the first Paper Mario was brilliant, as well as the DS ports of Super Mario 64 and, to a lesser extent, Diddy Kong Racing. As long as the touch screen is utilized properly, I'll enjoy it.

Well, all the other games they've made from the N64 to the DS were changed greatly. Super Mario 64 DS gave us 3 more playable characters, minigames, and better graphics. Mario Kart DS gave us more karts, characters, and race tracks. Such and such. If they make Paper Mario to the DS, the least it will have is better graphics, which would still kick ass. I'd find it awesome anyway if I could play Paper Mario wherever I go.

Long story short: There's a rumor going around that Paper Mario is going to have a remake on the Nintendo DS, and if so it is planned to be released in Japan this July.

Holy crap, I hope this is true. I've been waiting for this since the DS came out.

Guys seriously, sorry to burst all of your bubbles but game isn't even comming out. first it isnt in ANY other site but that one, and right under it someone said they emailed nintendo and they didn't know anything about this. And i saw some other lies from nintendic. and look at the name, nintendic? like why would nintendo make a site like that. My honest opinion is that it is fake.

Well, first of all, it's a rumor. It even says in the site.

Nowhere do they say that they're an official Nintendo site, and nowhere do they say that Paper Mario DS is confirmed. They say it's a rumor.

Second off, it is in other sites. There are 4 others I've seen.

Now, once again, it is a rumor. Nowhere do any of the sites say that the game is completely confirmed. There's plenty of a chance it's not real, but there's also plenty of a chance it is.

Hmm, i have a small part of me believing this. None of the major sites like IGN or gamespot know of it so thats why i denied believing.

Whiuld go in the Mario Kart DS forums instead of here, lol. Anyways, the game is probably going to be inexpensive, since Paper Mario games aren't usually expensive. I hope the game is good
