quoteThis year's biggest football tournament gets snapped up by the King Midas of publishers. Chart-dominating publishing titan EA is bringing Euro 2004 to PlayStation 2 after signing an agreement with the Union of European Football Associations - or UEFA as it's known to close friends and business associates.
UEFA Euro 2004 is being developed by EA's Canadian studio - not particularly surprising considering they're responsible for the ever-improving and obscenely popular FIFA series - and is due to arrive in time for June's tournament finals to be held in Portugal. The game includes all 51 European teams and allows you to play from the qualifying stages, so even if your national squad didn't make it into the final 16, you can choose to pretend it never happened and invent your own version of events.
It's expected that the game will feature an updated version of the FIFA 2004 engine, although so far EA has only revealed one addition: a "dynamic morale" system that tracks players' morale levels based on their performances as an individual and as part of the team, and affects their behaviour on the pitch accordingly. Does this mean that we can expect to see the likes of Michael Owen smugly sauntering around the pitch after completing a devastating hat-trick, or Robert Pires sulking like a hormonal teenager after being denied a penalty?
Enjoy the first couple of screens, and be sure to have a fourth official on hand to keep an eye out for any future updates.
The player behaviours sounds good

quoteIt's expected that the game will feature an updated version of the FIFA 2004 engine, I like the sound of that. Fifa had some great features and ran pretty smoothly. You would have the odd glitch but that's to be expected by all PS2 Games.
The morale feature sounds promising as well, I'm pretty sure they had this in an older Fifa game and it was good. Mouthing back to referee and things like that should be great to have as well because it would make it much more realistic. Although I hope they don't have the players who are usually saints on the pitch being complete jerks.
