SCSI CHEETAH 36GB 15k Poor PERFORMANCE

Better late than never :

Do you have two types of drive models on the same bus that is setup??

If you plug a PCI expander card SCSI, and use EIDE or **anything** that is not SCSI on a mainboard that does not force SCSI to have a fair share, ...SCSI can not overrule those other models for itself.... )

So add another non-SCSI on your only bus, so that therefore SCSI cannot operate at more than maybe 40-50% efficiency, maybe?? (Anyone have realer numbers to add to this argument??)

1) SCSI is set up for a transparent network footprint, which is the same in a memory model for inside any computer box, and for on a network.

Therefore if you have any other type of drive, SCSI is passive to that, and will lets that type of drive have its much lower network visibility requirement.

So if you have both something and also SCSI on the same bus, the other thing wins.

2) SCSI is not really visibly dominantly awesome unless you have (5-15%) total system drive space as a power of a high enough hourly rate to give SCSI a way to prove that it **really is built for high traffic network data load**!

So your average non-SCSI does not maintain hard connections as well, so will be nimbler to SCSI system unless you go bigger and compare data throughput then asin.
