	depends. what brand of laptop is it? i only know only of acer, and divisions of acer though. -------------------

	Maybe see how far back the system restore log goes? Unfortunately many recovery discs tend to install the OS all over again which is a tough issue. -------------------

	perfect. alright, well first off, assuming you havent deleted it from your start menu, look for the eRecovery menu. from there on, it should be a simple matter of following the prompts. -------------------
