Help me out guys please! About an harddrive in a dead computer.

So I had this one computer I had from(my first) 5th grade to late 9th grade. Almost 5 years of pictures of memories are on there and other very sentimental things that I would love to retrieve if I possibly could. One day the computer would just not start! I knew it wasn't the power supply in the computer because the green light on the back of the computer was still lit up. I'm guessing something fried and just wouldn't make the power button work? Or maybe the power button itself is broken but I doubt that..(You guys probably already know I don't know much about computers lol)

I'm in first year of college now and I got a new computer beginning of sophomore year in high school. So yeah its been a pretty long time since the computer had died, but I really didn't think of this idea and had no hope but just kept the computer in storage just in case.

So my question is.... Is there some kind of product that plugs into to the hard drive(after I take it out of the old computer) and it plugs in to a usb port of the working computer and I can either transfer all the memory in to the working computer's hard drive or possibly turn the old hard drive in to something like an external hard drive and be able to get to all the saved things in there?

Please help me out and finally end this feeling of a big loss. I really do have some very sentimental pictures of me and my family and what not.
