	Log in to remove this advertisement Basically, My CD Drive was working perfectly yesterday and now when I go to insert Football Manager 2008 or any other disk for that matter, the disk drive whirrs up but then stops without anything happening. I've been reading on the internet that the disk drive can 'dissapear' which sounds quite worrying. Basically, can anybody help me? I'm on Vista by the way. Thanks in advance. Regards. Matty.

	There's a couple things that you can check... First, right click on the little Windows flag on the bottom left hand corner --> Explore Check to see if your CD rom Drive is there. If it is, expand to see the files. Also, if it's there, then right click it and choose auto-play (or play). If it isn't, then right click the computer icon on your desktop --> then choose manage. Highlight Device Manager --> then on the right window pane, right-click your computer name and choose "Scan for Hardware Changes". Also, check to see if your CD rom drive shows up under the DVD/CD-ROM drives category. ------------------- No gaming right now... my T42 video is toast (almost)... I'm getting zig zaggy lines all over the place. Neo HTML Markup help

	Thanks a lot mate for replying. Basically, the DVD-CD Rom isn't there. I went on to Computer Management like you said and I found it. However it says there is an error with it but it has no solution available, would you be able to help me? This is what comes up. Hopefully you can help me as I start Uni in 2 days. Thanks in advance. 	Sorry for the slow reply... I haven't checked this forum in a while (this category anyways). What you can do is in Device Manager, remove the device and reboot. Then when the system comes back up, it'll rescan for new hardware and see if it picks it up normally. ------------------- No gaming right now... my T42 video is toast (almost)... 	My cd drive says that it is fine but it isn't revving up when i insert a disc, solutions?
