Multiplayer Mode

Hey there. I just wanted to stress the point of the multiplayer option on Donkey Kong Country. I used to play it with my brother and he would always go the starting character. Then he would usually do about three levels before tagging me in. Did you like this part? I was really frustrated when I had to watch Andrew do everything. I mean I tagged him in. The multiplayer feature wasn't great in my opinion, whether it was my partner or not, I just loved playing by myself. If you'd take it by turns, a level each then I suppose that would be great, but my brother wasn't like that..

Did any of you guys play co-operative with someone else? If you did would they tag you in? Sorry if this seems like too much of a rant, I just think we should get some opinions on the multiplayer side of things. So discuss the multiplayer mode here.

This was a great feature in the game and when i played it with my brother someone would always die and then it would be their chance to show what they are worth. We were fair though if you finish one level give it to someone else, i believe this was a great feature in the game.

Maybe we should of done a level each. I mean if I were to play it with someone else it would be awesome. But the fact is, my brother is a game freak. He just won't quit with the game, he has to keep going on and on until he wants to finish, it's tremendously frustrating, and it wasn't just with Donkey Kong Country. He still does it today, on the Playstation 2 and other consoles. I can understand how some people like this, I probably would, but I just don't because of the simple fact that I played with my brother.

I actually did use the multiplayer feature at my friends house as well once, on his Super Nintendo. It was ok, we took it a turn each, but waiting is not one of my strong points. I just always want in the game, so it could be that or my brother just sucks at the game and wants to continue for a long time.

Anyway, I want to hear more opinions on this. It seems like the multiplayer mode is a success, but I just don't rate it highly. Especially when you could play yourself, on a single game. It all comes down to what time of gamer you are, and who you play it with..

Well yah it depends who you play it with, well you could have just gave him a smack in the head saying its my turn or something because you both should have fun playing.

This is a really good feature.

This made it easier to finish the game, because there are some parts I can't get through so easy.

In My opinion this Multiplayer system is better then the Mario World one because you have to wait until they die or finish the level to get a turn, while in this game you can just swap whenever you want.

Yeah like if you don't take that secret in the first Rail track stage then it is tough to get passed some of those jumps.

It was a good game, but the swapping players wasn't the tag.

Its really fun, its much better than single player because in single player you dont have as much fun as in multiplayer.

Another good thing about this feature is it gives both players a fair go.

If you don't finish the level you play the next one.

This was a great feature in the game. It gave you a chance to play the game with someone else and not just on your own, if you needed to take a break for whatever reason, you could tag your partner in and he/she would take over. And like mentioned before, you could take it in turns on the levels.
