Nice teams guys I call lapras Atlantis cuz it sounds awesome
My Team is:

Dragonite- (dragon types are always good to have in a fight! water, fire and grass are ineffective against dragon types!)
Lapras- (ice and water is a good combination against dragon types because ice is super effective)
Pigeot- (Good Flying type, he can also learn mirror move, so is very good against Dragon Type pokemon as Dragon types are super effective against Dragon type)
Charizard- (good as a Fire and Flying and can learn Dragon type moves)
Pikachu- (not evolved because he is faster when he is devolved)
Snorlax- (HEAPS of defence and attack, he is really good if you are trying to revive other pokemon while fighting a boss and also he can FIGHT WHILE HE IS ASLEEP )

Slip, get rid of traveler as dugtrio does his job better than traveler does. And add invaporeon. The team is a well balanced team however it was missing a water/ ice user. Vaporeon repels fire types better than dugtrio can.

Well a team I generally use (w/ out psuedos or legends bc I prefer not to use em)

exeggutor- in my opinion the best grass type in the game.
Omastar- perfect 4x resist to fire to modown Blaine. Has good defense so it can tale hits and dish em out too.
dugtrio- great ground type and is quick to dish out pain
snorlax- monster, nuff said. Teach shadow ball and it will kill agatha easy
raichu- I'm not a fan of electrode or magneton. It's quick and t bolt packs a punch
charizard- great fire/flying combo.

Whe it may not look pretty or like most other teams. It gets the job done

Trust me, this team is amazing - You can use Rayquaza and Groudon to easily sweep through Lorelei. Groudon and Mewtwo can destroy Bruno. Mewtwo and Tyranitar (Crunch) can sweep through Agatha's ghost and poison types easily. Walrein and Rayquaza can take out Lance (Ice is 4x effective against dragob types) You can use all of them against your rival. I have beaten the elite four over 30 times with this team... You may not have these lvls, just get these Pokemon, though you will have to trade with ruby/sapphire/emerald to get Walrein, groudon and rayquaza. Hope I helped

no way u guys the best team is (this is my team ty very much) rhydon, blastiose, nidoking, dragonite, acranine and scizzor!!! and PS a good name for your lapras is LAPDOG.

Definatley start out with charmander ... So charizard for ice, grass, steel, and bug. Riachu for flying and mostly water. Dragonite for the dragons and an all around pokemon, tyranitar for psychic, or when you need rock or ground moves, gyrados for fire, fighting, ground, bug, rock. Steelix for almost anything but fire.
