Whether these Web comics are of high quality or not is not the question. Whether these strips are of hard work or not is not the issue at hand either. The dilemma is that they don't belong in Art Central. Nor do they belong in Graphics and Animation. It would be problematic to create a sub-forum for a sub-forum since Comics is actually a sub-forum of Books & Literature. The only resolution may to be to only allow them in users' NeoHomes. That has not been decided yet, so don't get your panties in a bunch. Now, could we use the thread in the main Graphics and Animation forum since this thread is for announcements and such?

OK, I've decided as long as the digiport headers are under 20 KB I'm going to allow them. The previous size restriction of 600 x 80 pixels is somewhat creatively stifling...so as long as we think your header has the dimensions we think a header should have (roughly neo-banner-sized, or smaller) and it's under 20 KB we'll put it up for you. The filesize is more important than whether it's 10 or 20 pixels too tall.

And I'll try to update the featured art more often

As of today Thread Headers will no longer be appended to member's portfolios.

Its just getting down right annoying to get 3-4 PM's a day asking for a banner to be appended to their header. Sorry, too many new portfolios are being made, and others are changing their header seldomly for me to keep up with this.

My suggestion is to keep your first post reserved for your header, and a small intro (if any), and then start to display your works on the posts to follow.


I will take off headers if requested, but no more will be put up. Thanks.

What concerns me at the moment is this gigantic mess of a forum.

There are portfolios over 30 pages, portfolios with only one post of artwork, portfolios that haven't been updated in months even years, closed portfolios, and etc...

So I've got some work to do to get this place cleaned up. And heres how its going down.

Threads that have exceeded 20 pages I'm not going to bother and clean out comments/broken links. The author is going to be asked to create a new thread, and the old one will be locked and scheduled for deletion in 30 days. That should give the author plenty of time to transfer anything they would like to the new thread.

Threads that have only one post of artwork, and haven't had a new post within 2 months will be closed and scheduled for deletion in 1 week.

Threads that haven't been updated in the last 6 months, and have 5 or less pages will be scheduled for deletion in 1 week. A few exceptions may be made.

Threads that are already closed will be deleted on sight.


There are just too many members coming in, making a portfolio, and then leaving a week, or month later.

Anyone who has their portfolio deleted is welcome to creating another thread, but if it isn't kept updated - it will be deleted in the next forum cleaning.

There is now an index of all the notices put throughout the thread, located in the first post. It is mandatory that every member keeps up and obliges this thread.

With that said, I only want FORUM moderators and/or Super moderators to participate in this thread. Please revert to the "And The General Consensus Is..." thread to discuss any of these issues.

Ok Ladies and Gents, I've been looking through the moderation queue and for my liking there are too many hormones flying around in this forum.

The consistent flame wars in each other's DP's are becoming a problem.. I don't care if you were 'sticking up for someone', if you decide to post a comment which is offensive to anyone, degrading to someone's work or anything else along those lines, I'm afraid there will be consequences.

I'll be monitoring the ports closely and if I feel anyone is breaking the rules of, 'politeness' lets say, then I will be issuing warnings and bans.

Let's try and build a better sense of community here people, instead of shooting each other down at the first opportunity.

In the meanwhile, as I finish writing the digiport rules, I'm going to ask everyone to please stop putting ascii art on their Digiport titles. The only thing allowed is your name/digiport's title and the name of the piece you've updated and other variations.

Titles with stuff like "~:;; ) ( ;;:~" and ".::: :::." will be edited. Unless you want to be annoyed by my edits then please do not put ascii art in your titles.
