Hatsune Miku: I really like the chaoticness of the background which really works with the anime character! Good job on that! I would not smudge/blend her in soo much though, and bring her out a bit! Maybe add some new colours .

re: Alistair- [R]evised & [R]eloaded

Not really familiar with that particular anime, but the banners are good. I prefer the text in the second one, but the color tone of the first. The red in the second doesn't really suit the thing, whereas the first is great. You might also want to follow Starborn's advise, the render looks a little over-blended.

The banner's pretty appealing and it looks nice at first sight. Needs sharpening, less contrast, more color gradients, lighten it up a bit, lose the text or change it to something better (the text on the first piece is much better than the one on the second), and take it easy with those brush overlays on top of Miku. Banner doesn't look bad though.

re: Alistair- [R]evised & [R]eloaded

Ah thanks for the advice. I followed a tutorial on Gimp Talk and changed a few things like in the original they kept the render layer on top instead of under the other layers, but I kinda liked how they went over her. On the second version there was a gradiant I added the German flag gradiant [I cut out the yellow] thats why it's a different shade.
Thanks I think I'll try out all your advice on my next piece x]

Nice piece I like the checkers, But get rid of the yellow dots on the right. Stocks A bit squished or alot.
Also Not a big fan of the text.

re: Alistair- [R]evised & [R]eloaded

I used a pixelize blur for the checker effect. The dots were just a tie-in for the hair piece. I havent reallt had much luck with fonts any suggestions?

dafont.com can get you a lot of nice brushes which are as easily downloadable as brushes are. I also like the blue checkers in the background of your piece .

Your stocks seem to be squashed. >>
I suggest try stocks that are not squashed.
I like them though, very nice. :3
